The next morning I got ready to head out the door with my brother.
"Oh, Sam," Fuyumi grabbed me by the shoulders. "Please be careful." She looked over at Shoto. "You better have her back, Shoto."
Shoto nodded in response.
What was Fuyumi saying? Of course Shoto would have my back. He always did. Like that time last year when Dad got pissed at me and was all up in my face. Shoto jumped in front of me and shoved Dad away. He told Father if he ever laid a hand on me, that he would kill him... It sounds crazy, but I swear he was serious. If Shoto had no problem standing up to our father, Endeavor, the number two hero, there was no way he would have a problem backing me up at a mere school. If a boy even flirted with me, Shoto would probably beat the living daylights out of him.
Fuyumi gave the both of us goodbye hugs, then we walked out the door.
"I feel like I never get out, anymore," I said, looking over at him.
"'Cause you don't," Shoto teased.
I rolled my eyes as we continued to walk down our yard to the sidewalk.
The warm sun shone above, and the cars passing created a delightful breeze. I looked around at the earthy scenery. There was green grass all around and trees, their flowers beginning to fall off, getting swept away by the fall breeze. There were few people in the area, since we lived so far outside of the city.
"So...what did you think of U.A.? Is it nice? You ended up changing the subject when I asked you last night."
"Oh, right," Shoto continued to stare off into the distance. "Yeah, I really like it. Some of the students and teachers can be annoying at times, but other than that..."
"Hmm... Any cute boys...?" I smiled and he stopped, looking over at me.
"You're ridiculous," he teased.
I had always been pretty boy crazy. Shoto was never very enthused by it. He enjoyed teasing me about boys, but was also more than willing to beat boys up over me.
"I know!" I grinned.
Shoto started to walk once more.
"You didn't answer my question..."
"How would I know... I'm not gay, sorry."
I laughed and he chuckled a little himself.
"Oh, come on. You can't honestly tell me you've never seen a guy and thought 'gee, he's fairly attractive'. You don't have to be gay to think that, silly."
Shoto shrugged.
"I don't know. You're into soft boys, right?"
"Yeah, kinda," I giggled.
"You might like this Deku kid, then, I guess."
We continued to walk.
Hmm..."Deku kid"... Sounds like a weakling... Kinda cute, maybe...?
All I knew was, I couldn't wait to meet this, so called, "soft boy". I tried to picture what he looked like in my head. Dark hair...choppy bangs hanging lightly over his...left eye... Maybe he wore black t-shirts and skinny jeans... An emo boy?
I shook my head. I was letting my imagination run wild! The poor kid probably looked completely different than I had imagined. I snapped back to reality and continued to walk along side my twin, and before I knew it, we had arrived.
"There she is!" All Might greeted as we approached. "The future hero I met yesterday! I am ecstatic to see that you have made your way here!"
"Yeah," I smiled. "I figure I owed it to you to at least try..."
It was nice to see All Might again, especially since I knew he believed in me. It made me feel special, but I also knew I didn't deserve it.
"She still doesn't believe in herself," my brother rolled his eyes and I blushed.
Gee, was he reading my thoughts?
"And why is that?!" All Might exclaimed.
"It's just...being quirkless-"
"Nonsense! Now, come along!" All Might exclaimed, waving me forward. "Let's go in and take a seat!"
"Uh, okay..." I shrugged, a little confused as to why he simply brushed my feelings off like that.
The three of us walked in, and All Might lead us to a large room filled with many chairs, and a few other people gathered around a long table, who I assumed to be teachers. To my surprise, I noted that one of those few people was none other than...my father, Endeavor...
