Betty's POV

When I woke up with a huge headache the sun rays warmed my body. I looked around and noticed that this was definitely not my room.

I lightly panicked when I noticed not only the sun was warming my body but the arms of a stranger. After a look under the covers I was sure we had sex.

This wasn't me. Getting drunk and having a one night stand.

Veronica won't belive me. That sounds more like something she would do to get over a break up.

But after my so called love of the life broke up with me I was in a really weird place didn't know what to do.

Right now I just wanted to leave and forget about this night although I have to admit he was hot and I shortly admired his beautiful featured face.

To not wake him up I slowly untangled his arms from my waist so I could get up.

I managed to go outside without waking him and immediately made my way to Veronica. I just needed some advice.

Jughead's POV

It's been some time since I had such a rough hangover as now. I couldn't remember a lot about the last night but I was pretty sure I brought home some beautiful blonde.

I often had some girls over from the club but I wouldn't really consider me as a fuckboy although some people do say this about me.

While I made coffee I heard Archie struggling with the keys in front of the apartment door. He stumbled into the kitchen and smirked at me.

"You're such a male slut Jughead."

I looked at him rolling my eyes. He was so annoying sometimes but he's my best friend since we've been kids.

"Archiebald you're not a holy child neither are you?"

He just shrugged his arms laughing and went to his room.

While I drunk my coffee I felt my skin tingle about the flashbacks of the night before. I started to shake my head hoping it would go away. But it didn't.

The thought of her skin brushing against mine. Her fingers buried in my curls. Her soft hands touching every part of my body.

It was so unusual for me to think about a one night stand so deeply or just to think about it all. About her.

Something seemed different this time but I didn't know what. Probably it's just my big headache and I'll stop thinking about her and our night soon.

Betty's POV

"You had a one night stand? B that's the most ridiculous and unbelievable thing I've ever heard," Veronica laughed at me.

"V seriously it's not funny. I'm dead serious."

"I know I can tell at your look right now. Come on Betty it's not that bad. You'll get over it immediately. Besides was he at least hot?"

Veronica was always so curious but I was used to it and it didn't really bother me because I tell her everything anyways.

"Of course he was. I mean I don't remember all the details but when I woke up this morning I studied his face a bit and I have to admit he looked cute and with this black curl hanging above his face really hot too." I got lost in my thoughts again thinking about all of this.

"B did you listen to anything I've said?" Veronica snapped me back to reality.

"No I'm sorry. I got lost in my thoughts."

"I said you aren't allowed to fall for a one night stand. That's never a good base for something serious."

I widened my eyes. "Oh my god V. I'm not falling for him. I don't even know his name. I can't even remember a lot of our night. Hell we didn't even exchange numbers."

She put a hand on my shoulder and smirked.

"Oh Betty if only you knew."

I stared at her in confusion but I didn't ask because I knew I wouldn't get an answer. At least not something I could work with.

Betty's POV

I was on my way to work with a big coffee mug which is always my way to cope with Monday mornings and waking up early in general.

I'm not really an early bird but I wouldn't consider myself as a late riser neither.

As I arrived at my work place my boss was telling me to come to her office.

I got a little bit anxious. Those sentences never sound positive in any situation.

When I entered the room she was sitting at her desk smiling friendly in my direction.

"Mrs Burble why did you want to see me? I hope there isn't any problem."

"No Mrs Cooper there isn't you're doing great but I thought you could use some help. I have a really big case you'll have to solve but I don't think it's healthy to do it alone. So I decided to get you a partner."

Honestly I was a bit mad because I didn't want a partner.

I thought it was useless because I always work on my cases alone. I'm working there for three years now. when I moved to New York I was 20 and I immediately loved the job as a detective and I never needed any help.

"Who is it?", I asked.

"The man behind you. Forsyth Jones. You'll start working together today and then we will see how two you'll get along."

This can't be true. Forsyth Jones. The guy I had a one night stand with.

He smiled at me like a toddler and stretched out his hand.

"Hello I'm Forsyth Jones. You seem familiar. Have we ever met?" he smirked.

"No I believe not. I'm Elizabeth Cooper. I hope we'll make a good team."

God what was I doing. What was I saying. It was so awkward. At least for me he didn't seem to mind.

"Oh I think we will Mrs Cooper. We did on saturday night didn't we?"

He whispered the last sentence so our boss wouldn't hear it. And I didn't know what to say. I just looked as he left the room with a wink saying he will wait in our office.
