~With Darryl~

Darryl was helping to finalize the last few parts of the plans for the monsoon season, deciding that they would focus their attention towards dryer areas and less so on normally watered places, this year at least, just to shake things up.

Darryl was glad he could convince the lead weather controllers to ease up on the wetter areas, since every monsoon, they make it rain so much that the floods they cause, just wipe out entire villages.

He smiled when he looked down at the beautiful world that they helped to maintain below. The world he could happily call home if he ever wanted to be down there.

Zak was down there, Vincent was down there, and humans were down there.

He loved the world they took care of, but he loved his friends more than anything else the world could offer.

A few hundred years ago, there was a disaster on all ends of the three races control, it was a big domino effect of problem after problem that almost resulted in the death of hundreds of humans, animals, plant life, and practically could've ended the entire world.

Darryl, Vincent, And Zak were among the ones who were so panicked, and desperate to fix the damage, and they almost didn't have their meeting, which did end up solving a majority of the problems they were all having.

Darryl was so scared when some out of control weather had caused a flood, that swept up and almost killed Vincent, and a tornado, that caused some flying debris to hit Zak.

He was so afraid to lose his friends that he made the leaders of his people swear, that if the world fell to disaster, he would be allowed to bring his friends and their immediate family to live among them, they would be given wings, and freedom from any past disputes, no questions asked, so they can live happily.

Darryl had shown he was stronger than the leaders by tenfold when he was really young, there was something so strong and powerful dwelling deep inside him, and it scared the leaders, but made them respect him and take his words and opinions more seriously, so he didn't have to do much convincing for them to give their word.

Darryl had yet to tell his friends about the promise that his leaders made, despite the disaster happening almost 300 years ago, he decided to keep it to himself until another scare like that happened again.

As the plans for the season were coming to a close, Darryl excused himself from the closing statements to gather his notes, and belongings so he can be on his way.

Despite living in the sky, the journey still took a long time, since he needed to save his energy for his transition to earth, he didn't fly the distance.

His method of transitioning is rather unnecessary and unethical but it's fun and easier for him the way he does it.

As he heads out, he waves goodbye to the people who came to see him off, and walks along the clouds to the location.

He starts to smile as the sun starts to fade and the sky starts to adopt the beautiful moon and colors of the night. He kept walking a bit longer into the night, knowing he was getting close to the drop point and preparing to rest for his drop in the morning.

When he reached the drop point, he looked down carefully, seeing a beautiful blue pool of water way down on the ground. It was a small pool, made to be discreet, but it did its job well enough that Darryl hasn't died from a fall yet.

The idea of this big hole in the clouds, and that small pool of water, was for Darryl's transition. He called it dropper, and everyone who passed by when he did it was always terrified he would die.
