Mundane. Uninteresting. Humdrum of a lifeless day -- everyday. It was all she could think about. Y/N, was an office assistant promised of great things from the Shinra Company. Some day you will be able to work with the amazing Elite Trio, Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis. The Great Generals of the century. "You'll head important research." "You'll be a prominent figure here." "You'll work with influential people and spear-head Shinra to the top!" Promises on top of promises yet there she was trapped inside a cubicle that held her day in day out.

Shifting through the mountains of paperwork that she knew she could not finish within the day she considers her life within the company. Should she leave? Should she stay? Is it worth it? It's been several years and all she has done is audit paperwork and file. As she sits there working on her next paper she hears her name through the intercom. "Y/N to the Business Office."

The office manager was a robust lady, she always wore a scowl on her face, and has never graced anyone with a smile. She was miserable and she made sure that everyone knew it and felt it. Y/N walked into the office and sits herself in the hard cold seat in front of her. Though it was awkward she couldn't help but notice her manager holding a burly envelope and the frown on her face growing as the clock on her wall ticks away.

"Who did you sleep with to get this mission?" The manager says as she gives Y/N a disapproving glower.

"Excuse me?!" Y/N exclaims.

Y/N knew that her manager did not like her due to her prestigious background and her rich family. She has always been negative about her being there and will always note that the reason why Y/N was part of Shinra was due to her family generous "donations" to the company. But if it were true then she wouldn't be where she is. No one knows but a few years before joining the Shinra company Y/N was disowned by her own family because she did not want to marry for wealth and power. She fought hard and somehow she was able to gain her independence but with the cost of her family. Not that she cared much for them, they were shallow and only cared for trivial things.

Before an argument could arise top tier SOLDIERS walked through the door. General Genesis Rhapsodos, 1st Class Zack Fair, and Aerith Gainsborough. She's never been in a room with 1st Classes before and it was what everyone had said, -intimidating. Genesis commands the manager out of her chair with his eyes and bids her farewell with a wave of his hand. He prompts himself into her seat and starts to unravel the envelope.

"Your Y/N?" he questions with a demeaning tone.

"I am." She answers back.

He stares at her, examining, prying, hoping to get some sort of reaction with his intimidation. But Y/N stands her ground, sitting there as calm as possible showing absolutely no reaction. The intimidation, the demeaning stares, and the judgement of appearances. This was her everyday life back when she at home, she hid her tears behind joyful smiles and anger behind kind words.

"You have an IQ of 187 and you come from such a rich and prestigious family. Tell me what is someone like you doing here in this... facility?" He inquires.

"Well, initially when I took this position it was to gain experience through the company." She stammers.

"Well it's definitely been a few years. And according to your managers notes you're not exactly a "star" employee." He says as he flips through paper work in his hand.

Y/N was used to this, the arrogance, intimidation, and superiority that people try to push onto her. She was practically conditioned for it. She  smiles, letting him know that she was unbothered.

"My work speaks for itself." She says with confidence.

"That it does." Genesis with a smirk on his face. He looks at Aerith and she gives him an approving nod.
