You are not required to read any of this, if you wish, you may skip.

Seven Souls was inspired by a great number of things. Mainly, I draw my inspiration from medieval fantasy genres. It's by far my absolute favourite thing out there- and the darker the better.

Shows that have inspired my writing of seven souls include: Game of Thrones, The last kingdom, Reign, The witcher, Troy: fall of a city, and many more.

Besides shows, I also play games. Some of these dark fantasies include the witcher, dragon age (big favourite), god of war, the elder scrolls series, dragons dogma, etc.

I also read a lot but if we were to list the books I have read, we would be here all day. I will make a mention of the Oddessy. We had to read that in 9th grade and at the time I was completely enthralled in the story. It seems a bit tacky now but it was one of those OG greats.

It is not necessary to watch and play what I have played to understand the book, but I implore you to do so anyway. Some of these things are my most favourite things on this earth and I just can't get enough.

My book is indeed inspired by these shows and games, but any similarities are purely coincidental. I do not purposely copy anything from those stories and claim it as my own. The same goes for any names I use. I try not to use the same names but on the chance that I do, I ask that you understand that whoever shares a name with my character is in fact not the same person as this story takes place in its own universe separate from any others besides future books that may come out after this one.

I am aware that I fade in and out of the way people spoke back then and the way they speak now, and I intend to fix this in the future, but for now, you may enjoy my struggle.

With each chapter of this story, I will add a song that I like and I think fits the stories theme- but this song may not fit with the chapter. I do ask you to listen to some of these songs as I personally really enjoy them, but if you don't like them or you find that they absolutely do not fit with the mood of the chapter than that is fine by me. I just thought I would tack in some music that I have listened to and taken inspiration from whilst writing Seven Souls.

This is a DARK MEDIEVAL FANTASY if I haven't made that clear enough. There are dark things such as gore, death, and violence and other mature scenes.

There is a new map that I created, as the last one I had made, I found to be a bit insensitive given recent world events that unfolded around the time it was made, as I had a white-dominated country smack in the middle of the world as a centrepiece and it just didn't sit well with me. So here is the new one:

Still centred, right? Wrong, it's only zoomed in, however, the other continents are positioned so that when I zoom out the main content of this book won't be centre

All races in this book go by different names than in real life so it may be hard to catch, especially since I don't say their names often. When I do, I will try to make it obvious who it is I am talking about, but I usually only mention the region they are from.

You do not need to memorize any of this information, it is merely here if anyone is confused about what it is I am writing about.

This book focuses on Tenliten, which used to be known as the Midland on the old map. Tenliten takes after medieval Europe and is a white-dominated society, thus most of the characters are white, however, this will not be so once we change settings either later in the book or in later books.

Some special information about the other continents, however:

The mysterious eastern continent that does not show up on the map nor has a name is a very controlling continent and not many are allowed in or outside of it. They are the second most developed continent, if not the most.  Many people have tried to colonize the southern Sentenial continent but it is full of wild tribes that do not wish to be conquered. Many of them are nomadic and hard to track, although this is all Tenliten speculation. And lastly, the continent called Estwire used to be the most developed out of all of the continents but hundreds of years of constant war has torn it apart. It is likely the most dangerous to go here than anywhere else.

There are rumours of a continent on the other side of the mysterious eastern continent, but very few even get to the east, let alone believe it exists, so this is merely gossip.

There may be confusion as to why not much is known about some of these continents, and that lies in the availability of their travel. It's not that they lack the ships to see these places, but rather it is what lurks in the waters that impedes any world exploration... rather strange, right?
