Pilot Part 1

Baileys P.O.V

I woke up hearing Elena yelling for me to get up. I pulled the covers off me and climbed out of bed. As I looked around my bedroom I saw the pictures of my parents and Jeremy and Elena. I walked over to my closet and pulled out some clothes to go meet my sister and her friends for a ride to school. I put on my black ripped jeans and knee high boots with a big hoodie I had stolen from Jeremy. I walked out of my bedroom and went down the stairs. Jeremy came down right behind me and when we hit the bottom of the stairs Jeremy hugged me and we walked inside the kitchen. Elena and Jeremy looked at one another, both were angry with each other. Jeremy and I were closer than either of us were with Elena. Since mom and dad died she has been trying to be our parents but it just makes us more mad at her. We got our lunch money from aunt Jenna and made coffee. "You okay" Elena asked Jeremy. "Don't start, I'm fine" He said as he grabbed his cup of coffee from my hands and walked away. I assumed he went to go for class but lately he has shut down with everyone, even me. Elena looked at me which snapped me out of my thoughts. "Are you okay" She asked. I know she just trying to be there for us but we have both accepted mom and dads death. "I'm fine, Elena. You don't need to take care of me. I'm not a little kid anymore" I said as I grabbed my bag from the chair. "Elena I'm getting a ride with Bonnie. See you later". I walked out the door before she could object or say she was going with.

I thought I was in the clear but as I got closer to Bonnie's car, the door behind me closed and I turned around to see that it was Elena coming out. Sometimes when she parents us its like she thinks we could crumble at any minute. I am a lot stronger then she thinks I am. We got in Bonnie's car and I put my headphones in to drown out Elena's conversation with Bonnie. A few moments later Bonnie was pressing on her brakes and we spun around. As soon as we stopped I pulled my headphones out and looked at Bonnie. "Oh my God, Elena, Bailey. You guys okay." Bonnie asked frantically breathing. "Yea, What the hell happened". I asked looking at Bonnie. Elena looked scared but mad at the same time. I wanted to look at her and say it wasn't Bonnie's fault but I bite my tongue for Bonnie's sake. The rest of the ride to school was silent. The moment we got to school I jumped out of the car to find Jeremy.

After about 15 minutes I gave up on finding Jeremy and instead found Bonnie and Elena talking about guys. "He hates me" Elena said looking back at Bonnie. She was talking about Matt. After our parents died she totally shut down and cut everyone out. Matt and her were dating at the time and she called it off but nobody really knows why. "Elena don't worry he just needs time" I said hoping that will cheer her up. My best friend Caroline came running up and hugged me and Elena. "Gilbert's. Oh my god. How are you guys holding up?" "Were fine care" I said. She hugged us one more time before running off. I walked with Elena and Bonnie until we saw this new guy both Bonnie and Elena thought he was hot but I couldn't tell because all we could see was his back. Suddenly Elena looked over and saw Jeremy going into the bathroom and she followed after him so I followed her. When we walked inside Jeremy was using eye drops. Elena looked super pissed but there was no way I was going to let her crucify him.

"Great, First day of school and your already high". She said checking his eyes. "No i'm not". "Where is it". Elena said as she began to search him. I walked over and pushed her away from him and held out my hand to stop her from getting to close to Jeremy. "Elena back off alright. You are not our Mom leave him alone." I yelled it at her. "Well someone has, to people aren't going to cut you anymore slack Jeremy. They have moved past mom and dads death." Elena said softly. "Elena when mom and dad died you shut down, stayed in your room all day everyday. You cut everyone off. let me grieve how I wanna" Jeremy said as he pushed past Elena. He said some hurtful things but he wasn't wrong. " Bailey, I get it Jeremy is your twin and you will always be on his side but we can't let him destroy him self anymore". Elena said trying to reason with me as we walked out of the bathroom and she bumped into someone. They looked at each other but then she quickly followed after me.

"Elena, He will figure himself out but right now he's grieving in his own way. Just like you. Hes in pain. He is strong, he just needs to get him self back together." I said stopping to look at her. "Fine Bailey watch Jeremy get hurt that is on you" "No you don't get to put that on me. I'm going to help Jeremy but yelling at him isn't helping him obviously." I yelled at her and everyone looked at us but I just turned away and walked off. I was so mad at her at the time I didn't even feel bad for what I said. Later that day after school I walked home with Jeremy. As soon as we got home I went right upstairs to my bedroom to put my things away before going to the Mystic Grill. I was going to go hang out with Caroline. I really hope she is not with my sister. I don't want to see her.

I arrived at the grill and looked around to see Caroline, Elena, and Bonnie sitting together. I looked around to see if any of my other friends were there. I saw Matt and Tyler together and walked over to them. I have known Matt for a long time so he was kinda like a friend. Tyler on the other hand at this moment him and I were not on the same terms because of him threatening Jeremy. " hey Matt" "Hey Bailey" Matt said. "Oh Tyler threaten to beat my brothers ass again and you will have to go through me". I said threatening Tyler. I got up and walked out of the bar for a walk. Some how after 2 hours I arrived back home. I walked up the stairs and into the house to see Elena and Aunt Jenna talking but Elena quickly walking away. She walked upstairs and there was a knock at the door. I turned around and opened the door. I saw the new guy standing there. "Hello? Who are you?" I said with a curious look on my face. "My name is Stefan Salvatore. I ran into your sister today she fell at the cemetery and I was coming to check on her". " Okay I guess  Come in. I will go get her" "Ill just wait out here, thanks though" He said looking at the door. I turned around and walked upstairs to Elena's room. "Hey the new guy Stefan is downstairs looking for you". "Thanks". She said grabbing her bag and walking down the stairs. I went to my bedroom and sat on my bed. I pulled out my computer and books for school and sat at my desk. I put my headphones in and started working. After 40 minutes I got a text from Caroline

Caroline: Your sister brought the new guy Stefan. whats going on between them?

Bailey: Care, i don't really know what's going on there. I haven't talked to her since this morning.

Caroline: Well I'm going to bed we will talk about this in the morning?

Bailey: Sure!
