The next morning I was sitting in History class next to Jeremy. He looked over at me but I was looking at the new kid. Everything about him was just so damn mysterious. The first thing he did when he moved here is go for Elena. Part of me was happy that she was meeting new people but part of me wondered what the hell was going on with this guy. "The battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own mystic falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms Bennett" Mr. Tanner said looking right at Bonnie, who looked both mortified but confused. "I'm not sure" She said but that just earned her this look from Mr. Tanner " Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereo type?" "nope, i'm good". "Ms. Elena" "I'm not sure either". "there was 346 casualties. Unless your counting local civilians". Stefan came in saving Elena.
I finally just zoned the teacher and Stefan out until Jeremy snapped me back into reality. "actually, there were 27, sir, confederate soldiers, they fired on the church believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts. Mr tanner." Stefan said. I looked at him wondering what the hell is up with this guy. How did he know all of this. He knew more than the teacher. He was so Mysterious and always with my sister. The more I was around him the more questions I had. I looked at Elena and then at Jeremy who was looking at me confused. "Jer, whats wrong". I said hoping he would tell me and wouldn't snap at me like he does with Elena. "Vicky" " Jer, I know you like her maybe her and Tyler won't last and then you can be with her". He looked at me one more time before the bell rang and we walked out of class. Jeremy had told me all about the secret relationship they were having. I guess he didn't want to deal with Elena so he didn't tell her. Vicki wanted to keep it a secret because she didn't want Matt and Elena on her ass which is totally understandable. Jeremy, Elena, and I went home and got ready for the party tonight.
I didn't want to go but Jeremy asked me to. Elena met up with her friends and I went up to Caroline. "Bailey, Hey" She said giving me a beer. Tonight I decided I was going to be a normal teenager and get drunk. I wasn't going to worry about anything else tonight I was just going to have a good night. Me and Caroline danced and drank. I was so drunk I could have sworn I saw this person standing in the corner by the edge of the woods. Jeremy and Elena came out screaming help and pulled me out of my thoughts. I ran over and Jeremy was carrying Vicky. I pulled out my phone and called the cops. Shortly after they showed up and Matt and Vicky left in the ambulance. I sat over by the trash with Jeremy. " How you holding up Jer" I said trying not to let him see me drunk. Elena walked over with her normal judgmental look. "Hey Elena not tonight" I said softly looking her in the eyes hoping she wouldn't start anything with him.
"I was just coming to say I called Aunt Jenna, She's on her way". Elena said but she walked away and Jeremy just looked at me and then hugged me. I knew he was hurting. After mom and dad now Vicki, he is lost and hurting. "Hey Bailey, Are you drunk" He asked. "Yea" We both started laughing. Aunt Jenna pulled up and we got into the car. It was a silent ride home. We both got out of the car. I went straight up to my bed room and went to bed. In the middle of the night I woke up and decided to check on Jeremy. He was not in his bedroom but when I went downstairs he was on the couch in the dark looking at a picture of mom and dad. He looked so broken but I knew he was strong and he just needed time to get him self back together. I walked into the living room and didn't say anything but just hugged him. We stayed like that most of the night. Jeremy is tough he has just been through a lot in the past couple days.
