"Charlotte!" I jumped, my brush fell from my hand and blue acrylic spilled over the front of my smock. I cringed as I heard Renee burst into the studio.
"Hey...." I drawled out, "what's going on?"
She glared at me. "So, when were you going to break the news?"
"I swear, I was going to tell you tonight..." I said chewing on my bottom lip.
"Tonight? Is that so? You couldn't have mentioned it earlier? You know, I had to find out from a god damned ad?" She threw her hands up in exasperation. "My supposed best friend has a gallery featured at an art museum and she couldn't care to tell me."
I sighed. "Renee, it's not a gallery, it's just a few pieces that are being shown with someone else's gallery."
She frowned. "But still...it's better than nothing."
I broke out into a smile, "yea it is. Thank you so much for supporting me and helping me when I lost inspiration. I'll treat you to lunch for not telling you soon enough?"
Giving me a hesitant look she finally nodded. "Fine, we're going to Noodles. I'm buying like 5 sandwhiches then."
I laughed at her, "you pig"
She eyed my clothes, "yea says the one drenched in blue paint."
I looked down, surveying the blue paint dripping down the front of my smock and hitting the floor. I gave her a devious smile as I spread my arms out drawing closer to her.
"Oh no you don't, stay away from me!"
"Too late!" I shouted as I grabbed her and drew her into a messy hug, covering her in the blue paint. I let her go, laughing in the process.
She glared at me, "you're lucky you're my best friend and that I love you."
"Yea, yea," I chuckled as I started to gather my supplies and cleaned up.

"Oh god, Spicy Chicken Ceaser here I come," Renee moaned as she took a huge bite out of her sandwhich.
I rolled my eyes and stabbed a few noodles with my fork. "When's Nick showing up?" Nick was her boyfriend and he was supposedly meeting us here at noodles.
Renee broke out into a smile, "He'll be here soon, he supposedly has a surprise for me?"
The bell rang as the door opened. Looking up, "speak of the devil."
