Nyctophilia-love of darkness or night. Finding relaxation or comfort in the darkness.
Throughout the story Kida and CJ will be joining their friends in different moments. After they left Atlantis, Mal created a portal that allows CJ to return to Atlantis to see Kida from time to time as they all missed her. They each would use the portal but CJ was the one that used it the most. A week after they left the shore with Evie, Mal allowed CJ to leave again and help Kida out with her royal duties.
On the ship remained Mal, Bell, Harry, Rose, Uma and Evie along with the 3 crew members. Everyone went to sleep. Rose was trying to sleep but no such luck that evening. She went to her parents' room and entered it quietly. Mal was in a deep sleep in Harry's arms so they didn't hear her. She wanted to stay in bed with them but something caught the girl's attention. There was one blue crystal on each nightstand. The one beside her father was dim, but the other one was glowing a stronger light.
She carefully approached it and now she was standing right in front of it. There was something about that crystal that made Rose more curious. The moment she touched it she could feel her mother's magic pulsing through her own veins. The mirror in front of her showed her bright blue eyes glowing the same color of the stone. It scared her and that made her drop the stone on the floor with a loud thud. Mal and Harry instantly woke up to her gasp.
They both jumped out of the bed and held onto Rose tight. Her eyes became normal again and Harry took her into his arms. Mal looked in the direction the little girl was looking and her eyes grew big when she saw the Ember.
**Harry..** She caught his attention and motioned to the two stones. He took a step back with his daughter still in his arms.
**We left them in Atlantis, didn't we?**
**We did.** She answered. She took a few steps forwards but Harry quickly grabbed her.
**Don't touch it!** He demanded. **Something doesn't feel right.**
**Go and see if Uma has her Ember.**
She pointed towards the door.
**Mal, stay away from the crystals!** Harry's grip got stronger. She sighed.
**Fine! Let's go to Uma.**They went to her room and found her by the door as she was awakened by the blue light thay emerged from her own Ember. They only needed to exchange glances and they understood that each has received their stones back. They spent the rest of the night trying to understand the meaning behind all of that and as the sunlight signaled them that it was already morning, Evie came up on the main deck with a puzzled look on her face.
**What happened with all of you? Did you not sleep well?**
Mal took Rose out of her lap, placed her in the bed in her room and came back.
**Rose couldn't sleep and she woke us all up.** Uma responded not wanting to scare her new friend with the story about their past.
**Guys! I checked our room. Harry's crystal is gone!** Mal returned startled. Harry and Uma were left speechless.
**My crystal was the only one that had a dim light. Yours both were glowing.** He stated.
Evie caught up with their discussion and realised that she had to tell them what she found.
**Was it a blue crystal?** She asked, making the three of them immediately turn their heads her direction. Evie took out the blue crystal out of her pocket and her friends couldn't understand anything.
**I didn't steal it!** She quickly said thinking that it looked like she took it without permission. **I found it on my nightstand.**
**You did?** Harry asked.
**Yes. This and this key.** She took out a key made out of gold. Mal took it and studied its details. She recognised the markings but wasn't sure where she saw them.
**Can I keep it?** Mal asked.
**Of course. It's not mine afterall.**
**Thanks.**
**What are these crystals about? It seems like something important.**
Mal, Harry and Uma exchanged glances, which made Evie feel like she asked a too personal question.
**You don't have to tell me. I was just asking since I woke up with these on my bedside.** Mal put her hands on each's arms and said.
**You guys should take a nap. It's been a rough night. I'll tell her.**
Harry and Uma nodded and left.
It was a rather cold morning. The sun didn't bring much heat so Mal created a small fire in her hands and told Evie to come closer.
**The reason why I began this adventure with them is because I want to find my father. Uma and Harry have always been by my side and always had my back. They followed me everywhere. There was an ancient story about an Orb that can grant one's wish. I wished to know my father so we started seaeching for it. The Orb was in an ice cave found in The Lost City of Atlantis. The princess of Atlantis found us and brought us there. We used to play together when we were little. When we arrived we met the Ruler of the city who told us about this prophecy. I was the Saviour. I was meant to save Atlantis from the curse that sunk it and bring it back to the surface. The price was that I had to choose between breaking the curse and finding my father once I got hold of the Orb. I chose to set everyone free. Atlantis is now back under the sunlight and above the water. The crystal you found belongs to Harry. Each one of us had this Ember and when we reunited the three pieces, the map towards the Ember would appear. They are really powerful and always come with a catch. When we left Atlantis, we left them there so that Kida, now the Queen, would tale care of them. And now they're back.** Evie listemed carefully to Mal's story.
**So when CJ left, she went back there?** She concluded.
**Yes.** Mal took a pause. ** I'm surprised I didn't scare you away. I couldn't believe everything myself.** She laughed lightly. Evie placed a hand on her shoulder and said. **You guys are my only friends. I know that magic exists and if I can help you somehow find your father, I will!** Evie smiled and Mal extinguished the flame so that she can hug her friend.
**Thank you!**
**Always!**
Mal heard a voice again and turned to look into the direction it was coming from.
**I heard it too.** Evie confessed.
**You did?** Mal looked in disbelief.
Bell jumped on the stall near them and pointed towards an island.
Mal went to the wheel and spinned it so that the ship was moving straight towards the mysterious voice.
