Life changes quickly, even after feeling like it's dragging on for so long you often look back on what felt like a long time and wish it would return. Wishing for time to pass faster or not at all will not get you anywhere, it's best not to dwell and focus on current matters instead.

Though you would give anything to go back in time, back before Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon had left on their last mission, back before Qui-Gon had been killed. And as strong as you could be with the force, no matter how many Jedi code rules you followed, nothing can bring him back or turn back time to live in those moments of the past again.

It's been over two weeks since Obi-Wan got back with his new padawan Anakin, hard at work training Anakin and doing all of his new Jedi duties, he keeps telling you that you can hang out soon just like you used to, but the time never comes.

When you and Obi-Wan were both padawans together, your Masters were friends, you trained together, you talked, studied and meditated did everything you could side by side. But now he was a Jedi Knight, which left you feeling left behind. He was older than you by about a year already and now that he was a Jedi Knight you felt like a stupid child compared to him, low in rank and as if you were a bothersome pest.

You are waiting for your Master, standing in the hallways of the Jedi Temple, arms crossed, posture straight as you stand out of the way against the wall. That's when you see him, it's been two weeks and you can already tell his hair is getting longer, his braid is gone and you miss it, you subconsciously twirl yours around your fingers.

"Obi-Wan!" You yell to get his attention and he looks up and away from Anakin who was walking at his side and smiles at you. It's not a happy smile, it doesn't go to his eyes like it usually does, more of a flat line across his face upturned ever so slightly.

"Hello, Y/n," he says politely, so properly, like it's only a courtesy to not ignore you completely.

"Hi, Y/n!" Anakin repeats cheerily after him.

'How are you?" You ask looking at only Obi-Wan which annoys Anakin.

"Good we are just about to do a bit more training for today, see you around," he says, barely even slowing down his pace to talk to you, you frown and then force it to leave your face before you call out to him again.

"Obi-Wan did you want to ...hang out later?" You ask and the question sounds so wrong on your tongue, so informal.

"I'm a bit busy right now but perhaps your Master isn't," he says and it's an awful dig to your soul. You don't want to hang out with your Master, you wanted to hang out with your friend. Before Obiwan left you had been contemplating finally talking to him about your feelings, feelings you knew him to have as well. You sensed it to be mutual but now, he was so cold to you you wondered if you interpreted the force wrong.

"Finally, we can leave." Your Master says as she leaves the room and walks down the hallway, you are slow to follow so she turns, giving you a questioning look as she feels your sour mood through the force.

"Something happen?"

"Oh no," you quicken your steps to walk beside her, "it's nothing."

"If it was nothing, then it would not be affecting your emotions so harshly." She chides and smiles down at you.
