Henry has a big fight with his family.

Henry's POV

It was time for me to take my 4 yr old German Shepherd, Tucker, for his afternoon walk.

I went to the hallway closet and grabbed his leash.

When Tucker saw me walk back into the living room holding his leash, he barked happily and wagged his tail.

I clipped his leash to his collar.

"Come on, boy. You wanna go for a walk?"

He barked and wagged his tail again.

The walk went fine.

When we got home, I unclipped Tucker's leash and he ran straight to his water bowl.

I went to refill his water bowl.

I was halfway to the kitchen when I heard my name being called.

I turned around and saw my family sitting on the couch.

"Where have you been, Henry, my dad asked.

"I was taking Tucker for his walk."

"Seriously? Is that dog all you care about?"

"His name's Tucker. And I care about you guys too."

"Really? Because lately he's all you talk about."

"Tucker's my dog. What am I supposed to do?"

"Put him up for adoption. How bout that?"

"Why should I?"

"Because you're a terrible dog owner, Henry!"

"No, I'm not! Why do u guys say that?"

"Because. Ever since you got that dog, he's gone to work with you every day and been to the emergency vet twice."

"Okay, so you guys are blaming me for him being shot as a puppy and becoming a 3 legged dog?!"

"Yes! Both were your fault! If you had left that dog here, he'd still have all 4 legs! You are a terrible dog owner!"

"You only got him to snap him out of your stupid heartbreak! You had no reason to be heartbroken! You were mean to Sierra too!"

"No, I wasn't!"

"Ray didn't need to get you another dog! He was being nice!"

"Oh, please. You guys didn't even care that I was heartbroken!"

"That's right! Because there was no reason for it!"

"Yeah, there was! Sierra had just died!"

"Let me put it to you this way, Henry: That dog's going to the shelter."

"No, he's not! And his name is Tucker!"

"Whatever. You're getting rid of that dog, Henry."

"No, I'm not! Tucker's not going anywhere!"

"Either you get rid of that dog or you're quitting your job. Either the dog goes or your job goes."

"You guys can't make me get rid of Tucker. You see, he's my best friend and we'll do ANYTHING for each other. He'll do anything for me. I'll do anything for him. I'm not getting rid of him."

"Fine. Then you're quitting your job."

"No, I'm not."

"Fine. Then this is what's gonna happen: The next time that dog leaves this house to go ANYWHERE but for a walk or the dog park, he's going to the shelter."

"For the last time, his name is Tucker."

"Whatever. You've been warned, Henry."

After the fight with my family ended, I felt like I was about to cry.

I started to head upstairs and Tucker started following me.

"No, boy. You stay down here."

I headed upstairs to my room.

I ran straight to my room and shut the door.

I lay down on my bed in my heartbreak position and just broke down.

It seemed like I was crying for a while.

I suddenly heard my door burst open.

I rolled over to see who was coming in and saw my dog walk in.

He came around to the other side of my bed and jumped on my bed.

I gently pushed him off.

"Not now, buddy. Go back downstairs."

I knew Tucker was just trying to comfort me, but I wasn't in the mood.

"Go away, boy. I'm not in the mood."

He tilted his head and whined.

He then licked me comfortingly.

I sighed sadly and rolled over.

"Tucker, stop. I'm not in the mood."

But he wouldn't give up.

He looked at me expectantly.

I knew I couldn't stop him from trying to comfort me.

I sighed and patted the bed.

"Okay, boy. Come on."

He jumped on the bed and lay down next to me.

I gave him a belly rub, which cheered me up a little bit.

But I still was pretty upset.

Suddenly, my phone dinged.

I looked at the phone to see who had texted and saw that Charlotte had.

C- Hey, Hen. How u doing?

I sighed and texted back.

H- Not good. My family and I just had a big fight.

I was too upset to do anything else.

I didn't wait to see what Charlotte would text back.

I sighed and turned my phone off.

I never left my room the rest of that day.

Tucker and I remained on my bed all day.

Having my dog with me cheered me up a little bit, but I was too depressed to leave my room.

I skipped dinner that night and Tucker and I went to sleep.

When I woke up the next morning, I couldn't get the fight out of my head and was still upset.
