Best Friend Betrayal

When Charlotte finds out about the fight Henry had with his family, she unfairly breaks his heart instead of comforting him.

Henry's POV

A day had passed since the huge fight with my family.

I was still really upset.

Tucker kept trying to cheer me up, but to no avail.

I decided to try taking Tucker for his morning walk.

I got out of bed and went to the upstairs hallway closet.

Tucker had been in his dog bed in my room, asleep.

But when he heard me getting his leash, he woke up.

He came running into the hallway.

"You wanna go for a walk, boy?"

He barked happily and wagged his tail.

I laughed and clipped his leash to his collar.

When we walked downstairs, my family was up and watching TV.

They seemed to have calmed down a lot since the fight the day before.

As Tucker and I walked to the front door, my dad called my name.

"Henry, where are you going?"

"Taking Tucker for his morning walk."

"Good. Remember the warning I gave you yesterday. The next time you take that dog anywhere but for a walk or to the dog park, he's going to the shelter."

I nodded and headed out the door.

I wanted to take Tucker for a walk, but he turned it into a run.

When we got back, he was tired.

I let him off his leash and he went straight to his refilled water bowl.

I was still upset about the fight and decided to jam to BTR.

They always cheered me up or calmed me down when I was upset.

(They ALWAYS cheer me up or calm me down too.)

I turned my phone on and went to YouTube.

I went to a BTR song playlist and looked for my fav song by them.

(Henry's fav BTR song is also mine.)

I knew every single move, except the breakdown.

(I also know EVERY single move, except for the breakdown.)

When the song ended, one of my other fav BTR songs came on after it.

I was jamming to Boyfriend when suddenly my phone dinged.

I looked to see who was texting me and saw that Charlotte had.

I thought she had sent a comforting text, but when I looked at the text, I was wrong.

This is what she texted:

C- Seriously, Henry? Why you gotta be so dramatic all the dang time? Get over it. You're 16 yrs old, not 5! I'm too busy with my family to deal with you anymore. I'm not gonna deal with you anymore. You have your dog to be friends with. I'm not your best friend anymore.

I was shocked to see my best friend text me that.

I read it over to see if it was a joke, but it wasn't.

When I realized that it wasn't a joke, I was speechless.

I dropped my phone slowly.

(He dropped it in slow motion.)

I stood there for a few minutes not realizing what had just happened.

I swear I could feel my heart crack.

I couldn't believe Charlotte had just broke my heart.

I had treated her like family and that was how she repaid me?

I picked my phone up off the floor and went to Charlotte's number.

I wanted to block it, but I just decided to ignore her for now.

I was too upset to jam anymore and I turned my music off.

I turned my phone off and lay it down.

I then laid down on my bed in my heartbreak position.

Tucker seemed to know something was wrong.

I saw him walk around to the other side of my bed and jump on.

I didn't see the point in pushing him off.

Even if I didn't let him comfort me, I knew he wouldn't give up.

When my dog jumped on my bed and curled up next to me, I sighed and rolled over.

A few minutes later, I was still pretty heartbroken.

I decided to watch my fav show to try to cheer me up.

But not even watching my fav show cheered me up.

I didn't leave my bed the rest of the day.

End of this part. What Charlotte did to Henry is exactly what my best friend did to me.

My heart's still broken bc of her.

Even after I treated her like family.

I feel guilty about it.

What did I do wrong?
