Chapter XV.

Hey guys! So this chapter will be a little long and will contain a sensitive part. I am going to mark when the sensitive scene starts and ends, just in case you don't think you want to read it and would rather skip it. Be assured that the chapter will be interesting even without that part! I promise!

The rose garden.

It had been a couple of difficult days for Claire.

She was processing what had happened at the Baron's home and didn't really want to leave her room.

Useless to say, Nicolae was still furious about everyhing that had come crashing down.

He was worried about Claire and still upset with Drogo. Peter really tried to talk to him and explaining that Claire just needed a little time.

"You got there in time, Nic. She is gonna be shaken for a while, but at least nothing worst happened." He patted Nicolae's back and stood behind him.

"I know." Nicolae kept staring out of the window of his room.

"She is gonna be okay. I promise you, brother." Peter spoke again before heading outside, knowing that Nicolae as well, needed some alone time.

Once the door closed, Nicolae sighed. He didn't need them to tell him, he could read everything that was going on in Claire's head and heart, but he would never dare to over step.

After a few minutes spent gazing over the forest, he decided to go check on Lorie. He exited his room and was about to pass Claire's room when her door opened slowly.

Nicolae froze there, waiting quietly, hoping to see his beautiful woman.

He was wondering if he could spend some time with her, she didn't have to talk if she didn't want to. He just wanted to be with her and maybe, maybe he could give her the present he was holding on for way too much now.

After a few seconds, the door was completely open and there she was.

"Hi..." She said shyly, moving a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Hello Claire." He simply stood there, curving his lips into a smile.

She moved in closer and was standing in front of him now, looking into his eyes.

"I am sorry." She said.

"I am sorry too." He whispered, raising a hand to touch her face. He had longed for that moment for so long.

Claire smiled and closed her eyes, at his kind touch.
"I had to sort some things out, I didn't mean to shut you out." She apologized as she opened her eyes again.

Nicolae nodded and brought her closer, holding her in his arms.

"I understand, darling." He said politely. "You can take all the time you need." He wanted her to know that whatever she decided it was okay with him.

She smiled. "Thank you, Nicolae."

He was happy. Happy that she knew she could count on him.

"If it's okay... I would like to talk with you." She said looking at her feet for a moment.

He nodded softly, almost feeling a beat in his own heart and then offered her his arm.

"Would you like to take a walk in the garden with me?" He asked her.

"I would love that." Claire smiled and walked downstairs with him while Nicolae mentally told Peter to go check on their little sister.
