Daniel doesn't give the rest of the letters out, the doctors said that Corbyn would make it through. He is in a coma right now, though he is getting better everyday. Daniel asked his parents to excuse him from school until Corbyn wakes up. Jordan and Ashley did too. Eben brings them their homework.

They only left to use the restroom and eat, and sometimes Daniel has to encourage them to eat.

He watches as Corbyn's chest rises and falls as he breaths, the beeping of his machines becoming a common noise he's used to.

Jordan is asleep and Ashley went out to get food. Daniel pulls the note out of his pocket. They found it in his backpack, along with notes for everyone else, but due to Corbyn's wishes, Daniel made sure no one else got theirs.

To everyone else, Corbyn accidentally took too much to study for a test. But not to Eben, Daniel, and his mom. They knew the truth and everyone else would know if Corbyn was willing to tell.

Daniel hates himself, and even though Corbyn doesn't want him to blame himself, he does. There must have been so many signs, a time where his smile didn't quite reach his eyes. When the laugh didn't sound true. But Daniel didn't notice any and he hates himself.

What if he did? Had the circumstances been different and Daniel knew, Corbyn wouldn't be laying down, comatose, in a hospital bed. Daniel would have talked about it, would have listened and tried to help. Even if he didn't want it.

But there's nothing he can do now except watch as Corbyn sleeps and wish the past had been different. Ashley comes back with three sandwiches, puddings, two orange juices, and an apple juice box. Daniels favorite. He quickly puts the letter away and takes his portion. He wakes Jordan and eats his food.

Corbyn isn't fed solid food, a nurse comes in and connects a tube to a bag of nutrients, sticking an IV into his other arm, the one that isn't putting medication that's supposed to wash the toxins out and purify his blood. She smiles at them and then leaves.

"When do you think he'll wake up?" Ashley asks. The first words since the three first met up in that room. It shocks Daniel that he almost doesn't answer.

Regaining himself he sucks in a breath. "He's getting better, quickly, a couple days or so."

"What if he doesn't wake up?" Jordan's voice is small, his eyes filled with tears.

"Jordan!" Ashley scolds. "Don't day that!"

"But what if he doesn't. It's a possibility. What would we do?"

No one answers him, and they didn't have to. They don't know what they would do. But they did know they wouldn't be ok. Daniel would probably never go back to school, back to the place where they first met. Too many reminders, and then the staring. He wouldn't be able to handle it.

Corbyn wakes up two days later.
