The budget was 90 million US-dollars and has earned a worldwide total of $252.1 million.
It has won a total of 16 awards including a golden globe for best movie and a BAFTA-award for best british movie, the movie was nominated for a total of 28 awards.
The movie was published by universal pictures and filmed in England and Scotland.
Sam Mendes also wrote the movie, he got the idea from his grandfather who experienced almost everything that happens in the movie, his grandfather also wrote a book about his journey.
The movie is shot in a particular way, it's filmed so it looks like it's filmed in one shot but thats not true, they planned all the details so that everything went smootly.
The storyline is that in the first world war corporal Schofield and Blake go on a mission to go to the second bataljon to blow off the attack on the germans because the germans had a plan to do as if they were retreating but they planned that the englishmen were coming their way and then they could kill them all (a total of 1600 soldiers).
Corporal Blake's brother is one of the 1600 soldiers so they gave the mission to corporal blake so that they knew that he would go because his brother is there and he wouldn't back out.
There were a lot of bad things that happend on the way, such as old german trenches, a german base and fields with dead people and horses.
I think the movie deserves all the prices it has won because it is such a great movie, amazing actors, storyline and they had given a lot of attention to the details and costumes in the movie.
Also i think that it is great that they made a movie about the first world war and not the second war because there are already a lot of movies about the second war.
I definetly would reccommend this movie for everyone who loves movies about war and such or just wants to watch a good movie.
Personally i give this movie a 5 out of 5 star rating because of the reasons above.
