An ambush, meant to take the enemy by suprise and place them into a disastrous position, yet the predator was about to turn into the prey.
Darric and his party moved onwards, knowing full well what was to come, and as anticipated they got jumped by the bandit group. However, Darrics endless fascination with biology led to him noticing the particular anomaly of his foes, they all had animal ears, or at least tails. Their Masks resembled that of an eldritch creature of sorts, leading the heir to believe they are members of some sort of cult, and the animal parts are thanks to mutations. Meaning they had to be purged from this land.
Heir: Enforcers, cleanse the land of this filth that stands before me.
He stated, unsheathing his sabre and getting into a defensive posture.
In the meantime, Reynauld had already charged and engaged one of the cultists while being supported by the Vestal Mercia, Sturges had disabled one of the brigands as well, his heavy chains knocking a woman unconscious.
Darric was then attacked by a swift bunny eared woman, her weapon of choice seemingly being a pair of automatic flintlock pistol, fascinating the heir. However he would inspect her equipment after she was disabled for good, and so as she came into melee range, her two automatic flint locks turning into blades, he side stepped, avoiding one of her strike and parrying the other. She came forth with a strike from her free hand but Darric grabbed the arm of his opponent, quickly overpowering the woman and twisting her arm swiftly and mercilessly, the force of which resulted in a satisfactory pop from her arm as a scream left the cultists mouth. Releasing the arm only to send an uppercut, the heir was quick to slash his opponents wrist, forcing her to drop the one weapon she could hold onto. Though the cultists did attempt to escape from him, the years of combat experience had sharpened his senses to the point where he was able to react quick enough to grab onto her leg, throwing her with immense force to Sturges, who promptly knocked her out with his chains.
The cultists laid defeated, alive but unable to retaliate. The Heirs enforcers placed them onto several trees beside the road, afterwards Darric reshaped the trees to fit his purpose, their roots not only tying themselves around the cultists and would be bandits, but also integrating them into its base, with only their heads and lower body exposed, just appealing enough to any eldritch beast looking to feast. And so they departed, ignoring the distant pleas for mercy and later screams of torment that followed.

By now, Darric and his enforcers had reached civilisation in the form of a nearby villiage, it was small and nothing particularly special. Despite this fact, his enforcers were delighted to finally get some food in their bellies, or perhaps find an abbey to pray in, quickly the heir found that the locals spoke the same or at least similar language.
Heir: Excuse me, sir, do you know where we exactly are?
Random man: Huh?
And that's where we'll end it folks. Yes I know this is long overdue but, I was very busy. Now stay safe and wash your hands, I'll try and update more frequently, keyword TRY.
