Sixteen years before the wedding ceremony of YunMengJiang Sect Leader
It was his first time coming back to Cloud Recesses after being away for two months. And it wasn't for a visit, but to seek for help.
His brother was the first person he came to. According to the situation, it wasn't too serious of a case so he didn't want to bother the elders. He believed a few junior disciples of GusuLan should be more than enough to handle this case. Besides, he had WangJi. He didn't want to boost but his brother was the best cultivator among GusuLan current generation of junior disciples. Even when he was barely a sixteen years old child, Lan XiChen believed his brother would grow up destined for something bigger. May be even more well known than himself. He smiled.
"Hum."
Stepping out of the reception room, a graceful sound of something like a bell echoed inside his ears. He wasn't sure where the bell came from. But the sound was extremely beautiful. One of the most beautiful sound that he had ever heard in his entire life thus far.
While still pondering, he noticed the slight change in his brother's expression. His brows scrunched together. Following his gaze, Lan XiChen's eyes landed on a group of three young disciples standing not too far away from them.
He recognized Nie HuaiSang at least. Since he practically saw him growing up. He then shifted his attention to the person that his brother was scoffing at. A young and energetic boy with bright smile wearing a black and red outfit. His waist hang a silver bell with purple tassel which made an odd combination of colors.
But it was the other boy who standing next to him that caught his attention.
Big almond eyes, thin eyebrows, slight golden skin that reflected off an energetic spirit under the sunlight. His violet attire wrapped tightly around his body, but was loose enough to not hinder his movements. On his waist hang a lotus shaped bell attached to a thin strings of purple. Its smooth silver furnish glinted off under the light like a beautiful, expensive jewel.
'Oh, so that was where the sound came from.'
He smiled, keeping his eyes on that boy "And you are...?"
"Jiang WanYin of YunMeng." The violet clothes boy responded with a salute. To which the other boy quickly followed with "Wei WuXian of YunMeng."
Lan XiChen returned the salute. He explained to them that he came back to ask his brother for some assistance. Having heard of that, Wei WuXian immediately offered to help. When it came to dealing with water ghouls, it was one of YunMengJiang's specialties.
Lan XiChen smiled without words. Before he got to say anything, his brother already jumped in front of his mouth, "It is against the rules."
Wei WuXian quickly retorted. And Jiang WanYin, whose eyes had been following Wei WuXian with a slight disdainful expression that was too light to be noticed by anyone else. But being born with a sharp perceptive ability, it didn't take Lan XiChen more than a few seconds to see a glint of pride and a will to make up for the face which the YunMengJiang Sect had lost during this stay at Cloud Recesses.
The young boy in violet attire looked up at him, his eyes focused with burning determination, "That's right ZeWu-Jun, we'd definitely be of help."
"It is not necessary. The GusuLan Sect is also..."
This time Lan XiChen was the one cutting off his brother, "Sure, then. Many thanks for your help. Please make some preparations, and we can depart together."
After watching both of them returned to their rooms for preparations, Lan WangJi knitted his eyebrows in confusion, "Brother, why did you decide to bring them? Exterminating ghouls is not suited for joking around."
