it was prom night and sage was beyond excited for it.

despite not loving events like prom, she loved the idea of dressing up and looking beautiful with the boy of her dreams.

she was gonna win prom queen, because of course she was, and it made her feel like absolute shit.

who was she to be crowned 'queen' when every girl there that night would look stunning.

and there were people that were nominated who wanted it so much more than her, but alas, she knew that by the end of the night it would be her.

what she was happy about was that nick was also nominated for prom king, so if they won, it would be a great story to tell their kids.

she was in her room with her best friend parker, along with maggie, ansley, and some girl named tiffany. (everyone hate tiff so much, shits funny af 💀)

she would be edwin's date. they were just friends, but edwin didn't want to be the only one without a date, so he agreed to go with her, and unfortunately, the other girls were stuck with her as they got manicures and pedicures.

they had spent the entire day treating themselves, and she actually seemed to not be that bad. that is, until she brought up the fact that non black people should be able to say a certain word if they mean it with no malicious intentions.

sage decided to keep her distance then, because she didn't want to start any drama and ruin the night, and if she could get within a 5 foot radius of her she would pounce.

"are you excited?" parker asks sage and when she goes to speak, she's interrupted by an annoying voice.

"yeah your dress is gorgoeous. and your man is hot. if he was my date i'd be all over his dick tonight." she spoke, not really thinking beforehand.

but when does she think?

maggie's eyes widened as she saw sage raise her eyebrows in amusement "too bad he isn't, right?" she said sarcstically to the blonde girl. "and don't you worry. I, as his girlfriend, will be tending to his needs tonight, but thanks for your concern." she said in a condescending voice.

there were a few seconds of awkward silence before parker cleared her throat .

you could cut the tension in the room with a knife.

it was obvious that edwin's date had a thing for nick. that's not what sage was mad about. because admitting that nick is cute is honestly the truth.

it was that, along with how annoying she had been all day, it seemed she was trying to tell sage what to do in her relationship. which was why she didn't like the idea of being public in the first place.

but she did indeed like the idea of beating the shit out of this tiffany girl.

"sage, can you show me where your towels are?" parker asked, grabbing her wrist and dragging her out of the room.

as soon as the door closed sage began her rant. "you better get her parker. you better get that bitch. YOU thought it was such a grande idea to-"

"sage i was trying to be nice."' the girl defends, but she can see that sage is fuming, and she doesn't get mad often.
