So, uh, if you're reading this, you're probably my secret santa. (Hi.)
Or, if you're not, that's cool too.
...
I'm not really sure what to ask for.
I mean, I've been thinking about this a lot, but I'm still having a hard time coming up with something that I want, so this is probably going to be extremely indecisive and offer a ton of alternatives so that I don't make you write something that you don't want to write or don't feel comfortable writing. But I also want to try to touch on a lot of things so you won't be stuck thinking, "Well how does she feel about X," when I could just include it in here and not cause a big fuss.
tl;dr I'm trying to make this easier for you but I'm probably overwhelming you.
But, uh, anyway, let's see here...
I like reader inserts a lot.
So I would prefer one...? I know a lot of people like to have their names put in instead of [Name] or _____, but I'd like if anyone could read the gift that you write for me. Does that make sense? I know that it's a little odd, but, yeah, I don't know why I'm like that.
But if you can't/really don't want to write a reader insert, you can call me Ris or Carissa. And if you need personality details, I'm super quiet and tend to be that voice of reason that nobody listens to. I'm pretty snarky (or at least I think I am), but also a total pushover that has an extremely hard time saying no (so I always get dragged into things that I don't really want to do (seriously, one time I stayed at my professor's office hours for like two hours because I didn't know how to politely excuse myself)).
And as for length, anything is fine. Writers always apologize for writing so much/not a lot, but I'm happy with anything. One page or 100 pages, I'll read it all, haha! (Oh geez I'm so lame).
I'm asexual and somewhere on the aromantic spectrum.
So, asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction and aromanticism is the lack of romantic attraction, for anyone who doesn't know.
I've discovered this pretty recently, so I'm still figuring out what that means for what I should request/what exactly I am. I mean, the asexual part doesn't really matter for this, but as for the aromantic part...
I think I'm somewhere between heteroromantic and aromantic. I've seen someone explain their romantic orientation as "aromantic with enough heteroromantic to keep things confusing," and that describes my feelings pretty much perfectly.
I find that I enjoy stories the most when the reader and boy(s) of choice are right on that line between friends and romance. Like they're good friends, but they could be each others' date to dances? Or maybe "comfortably romantic" where they like sit close to each other on a couch and watch a movie or have a tickle fight or something but not a lot of kissing or overly goey-ness? You feel me?
But if that's too strange to write, maybe something platonic or if that's still not working, something romantic but not mushy.
I'm totally open to any kind of AU that you can dream up.
Seriously, I think AUs are the greatest thing because everyone can be all happy and alive and stuff
Or they can be all angsty and scary and that's great too becuase it brings out sides of characters that you don't usually get to see
But also, if you'd like to age the characters up a tad, that would be great! I'm eighteen, turning nineteen in April (!) and it's kind of weird to think that Sora and company are like 14-15 at the start of KH and 15-16 at the start of KH2.
I'm really too old to be so attached to a fictional fifteen year-old. T_T
I like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and The World Ends With You.
So you don't have to worry about writing for a fandom that I don't know anything about. I will now attempt to list some of my favorite characters from each fandom (aaaand watch as I fail miserably and list the majority of characters in the games... I'm sorry, please don't feel like you should write a lot because I list so many. I'm just listing a lot so hopefully you can find someone that you feel comfortable and confident writing.) (And I'm telling you which games I've played so that spoilers can be avoided if they're relevant.)
TWEWY
So I like Joshua, Neku and Sho the most out of everyone. I'm not as into TWEWY as I used to be, but I still like the characters a lot and wouldn't mind seeing something about them
FF
So I've played VII, about half of VIII, bits of X and XII and I just started XIII, but I've also played Dissidia, too, so I at least know a bit about each game...
But most of my favorites are from VII and its compilation. Yeah. So Cloud, Zack, Reno, Angeal, Genesis, Vincent, even older!Denzel, I'd appreciate writing about any of them. Actually, I'm kind of a big fan of Angeal right now, but he's not too popular, so if you don't feel comfortable writing for him, that's okay too.
Or Squall/Leon, Irvine or Laguna from VIII.
And Hope! Oh my goodness I've played like three hours of XIII and Hope has grown on me so much.
He tries to be the voice of reason but he's like fourteen and everyone ignores him and then his mom and he's like a little bubble of angst ready to explode.
And from what I've seen from the hype of XIII-2 when it came out, older!Hope is quite the dreamboat.
But I digress.
KH
So for Kingdom Hearts, I've played KH, KH2, Chain of Memories and about a third of 358 Days/2. I like Sora, Riku, Roxas and Zexion a lot.
Or basically any well-written character. If there's someone that you write really well and would like to write about more than anybody on this list I've thrown together, by all means, go for it! I'd honestly love anything that you can write for me.
Yep, so... good luck, dear secret santa! Thank you very much, and I hope that you could at least pick up some ideas from this crazy rambling mess.
