The Life of Angel || Luke Castellan

Chapter 2:

~*SKIP TO LUNCH*~

"Hey, you want some?" Percy ask holding out a small red bag. It says 'Skittles.

"What are those?" I ask confused. I've never head of those.

He hands it to me and says, "Just try them. I'll see you at lunch." He walks away as I open it slightly. I let a piece fall into my hand and see a dime sized circular red piece of candy. I pop it into my mouth while putting the package into my pocket.

I walk to my locker, which I found out is the metal door on the wall, when a group of girls push me roughly into the lockers and my back hits a combination pad. I drop my books and hold my back. They started laughing and the leader puts her face close to mine and said, "You shouldn't have come here demigod."

My eyes widen. 'Grover help!' I call over a telepathy link I made with him because he is at the other side of the school.

'I'm coming.' he answers.

"What do you want?" I ask them through gritted teeth. The girl moves her hand so it is holding my hair to the wall and it hurts badly. 

'Use your powers,' a voice in my head says that I could never mistake. Father. I focused on the girls blood and I see her face twist. I focus on moving her hand away from my hair and it does, but it bends in a weird way.

The other girls start getting closer. I never move my eyes from the girl in front of me but I also focus on the other ones and they stop moving. It looks like they are trying to fight themselves.

"Angel." I heard Grover say getting close. It brakes my concentration when I turn to look at him and the girl take it as an opportunity to use her hand to start choking me. I can't breathe and I feel my feet going off the ground.

I start seeing black spots in my vision while I hear my name being frantically called but it was slipping away. I can't breathe but I wish she chose to drown me instead because then I could use the water to kill her. I have no idea what these things are though because they aren't human or demigods. I finally fall but hit my head on the floor. The last thing I see is Percy use a sword to kill the monsters and they die. Then all I see is black.

~^GROVER'S P.O.V.^~

Angel is on the ground unconscious so I scoop her up and grab Percy. "Come on! It's not safe for her here!" We run to get a taxi and when they see Angel I tell them she hit her head and that we need to take her back home. He doesn't question it anymore and we start to drive to Camp Half-Blood.

"So where are we going?" Percy asks as we get out of the car.

"You'll see in about 5 minutes." I answer. He has Angel in his arms as we walk to camp.

We start to see torches that show where it is. "Is that it?" Percy asks nodding to camp.

"Yes. There are people there that will help us with Angel and keep us safe. I have to protect her because I promised her parents I'd protect her." I answer. Percy stays silent while we walk through the door.

He gasps because on the outside it looks like a little cottage with a strawberry farm, but on the inside it is huge. There's the big house where the 2 will have to go and Angel to the infirmary, the 14 cabins, 1 for each god is occupied except for the big three, Hera's, and Artemis'. The big three gods are Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Lucky for Angel because she can choose to live in the Athena cabin with some other children or the Poseidon cabin by herself. Percy would have to stay in the Hermes cabin with other kids since we don't know who his godly parent is.

We walk to the infirmary and Percy lays Angel down on one of the beds. Annabeth, a daughter of Athena, comes in to help her and sees us in there.

"Hey Grover!" She exclaims.
