"She made broken look beautiful
and strong look invincible.
She walked with the Universe
on her shoulders and made it
look like a pair of wings."
― Ariana Dancu

chapter 2

The first time Bar saw a goddess, she was sitting nervously in the waiting room staring at his middle finger with wide eyes.

Now, she was still nervous but this time because he said he'd rather be called hers rather than a ninny.

And because as soon as that passed from Bar's lips, the fucking principal's door opened and the bitch herself walked out. Clementine paused in her reply to Bar and the surprisingly relaxed grin he had on was swapped out for a cold, venomous one as he looked at the principal.

Mrs. Burns was a worriedly thin looking woman in a professionally long skirt and business blouse, she had pin straight hair and dead blue eyes and he hated her with every cell.

Just because that stupid ass principal was sleeping with his dad she thought that she could control him and his life. She tried to be his mom.

Bar didn't need a mother, he didn't need another adult to fuss over his fucked up life or fucked up head.

She just didn't get that yet but, even if he had to do it through blatant disrespect and some rude gestures, Bar would spell it out letter for letter if that's what it took for Mrs. Burns to just leave him the fuck alone.

Rolling her eyes at the glare that put hell's fire to shame, she beckoned for both Bar and his young Goddess to enter her office, "Ivory, Bar, a moment please."

"No fucking thank you." His reply was dark, smooth, and full of anger. Mostly because of the middle-aged woman that stood before him but also because when the aforementioned principal said her real name, Clementine flinched.

"Now, Mr. Red." The authoritative tone didn't quite work on him like it should've but the way his girl jumped instantly had his plan to be a petty, annoying asshole go down the drain faster than Bar could say the word fuck.

Letting Clementine walk in front of him, he passed Mrs. Burns a scowl as he went into the office and plopped down into the chair next to where the goddess had taken refuge, which was right across from the principal's chair.

The old bat shut the door softly and came around the desk that was between where the two teenagers sat and where she was positioned.

Pleasantries were passed between Clementine and Mrs. Burns but Bar refused to be pleasant to the woman who grated on his nerves worse than any other adult in his life and that said a lot, saying as he loathed his father.

Once the small talk was out of the way, the principal got into why she requested for both of them to be there and as she talked, Bar's anger grew to a rather lethal amount.

He could feel it thrumming through his veins and settling into the bottom of his stomach like an uncomfortable weight that was threatening to make his hands clench into fists and for his voice to raise.

That wretchful bitch wanted Clementine to take time out of her own fucking day to help him.

Help the beast-boy who ruthlessly made that little goddess' life hell all those years ago.

Help the worthless boy whose beyond redemption.

Bar thought that, although Clementine definitely has the kind of soul that helps those who don't deserve it, he was simply beyond help and he definitely didn't need to feel guilty about another fucking thing regarding the beautiful girl next to him.
