It's was summer at last. No worries, no school, no homework. James and I started talking to each other and are like the closes friends ever. I got a text from James, "wanna have a picnic 😄". Him and his weird emojis amuse me. "Sure w.e. Imma invited Eva k?", I texted back with my response.I have another text. "Kk see ya then and bring some Oreos if u dun mind 😜", he texted back.
I texted Eva about the picnic and she said she would come. I took a warm shower, put on my light denim jeans and a lime green tang top. I finished it off with a sweater. I walked to the store and bought some Oreos.
I walked to the park and saw James sitting on a bench on top of a grassy hill. He waved at me and smiled. It was nice to see him again. When I went up to him and hugged him. "How's it going?", he asked me smiling. "Nothin'.", I chuckled. I put the Oreos down on the table and looked up. James held up a water gun and Eva jumped out behind a tree with a one too. They soaked me with water then they dropped their guns. I picked them up and soaked them with the water guns as well. We had so much fun and James stuffed his face with Oreos. I have great friends but there is still something I'm holding on to.
All of us rolled down the hill until it was dark. James put charcoal into the barbecue and lit it up. We all laid down and tried to count the stars. I noticed a shape of a heart that the stars made in the sky. "Look, it's a heart", I said smiling. James looked at me and chuckled. "What's so funny?", I asked. He stared at me for a while and looked at the stars again. "Nothing...", he said firmly. "Umm guys brb I gotta go to the bathroom", Eva said running down the hill. This was my chance to ask James if he still liked me or not. "James...can I ask you something?", I asked staring at his eyes. His cute dark brown eyes. "Yes?", he asked. "Do...d-..do you like me?!", I asked sincerely.
James kept quite for a while. "Sorry Lizzy, but no. No hard feelings?", he told me trying to be forgivable. I already felt tears begin to fall. "After all this time we've been through, I actually meant nothing to you?", I asked as my voice cracked. "I'm sorry.", he said as he stood up and walked away. "Where are you going?", I asked. "I don't want you to hurt you anymore Lizzy, I'm leaving.", he said coldly. I ran up to him and gave him a hug. James didn't hug me back though. He pushed me away and left. The fire went out. The stars became a blurr. Eva came back and saw me crying. "Oh my gosh, what happened?Where's James?", she asked all worried. I told her everything. She told me everything was going to be alright and we started packing up. As we walked away from the hill...I turned around and saw the picnic and thought to myself, nothing to you.Authors note: This story was actually based on me and my crush but I exaggerated WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to much. Eva is one of my BFF's well really one of my BFF's helping me through this drama. Well Eva isn't her real name but close. Hope you liked reading this. Imma start working on my new story, MEMO. YEAAAA IM SO PUMPED. Well happy thanksgiving everyone. 😘😘 BAI
