Two weeks had passed and Ray hadn't really gotten used to having Cami at his house. How could he? Since their confrontation, she hadn't really spoken to him and would spend all of her time in her bedroom.
After their argument, Ray looked her up, reading articles and watching multiple interviews. After all of that research, he realized he was wrong about the youngest Pearson sibling.
He had learned that Mickey would give her money for support which she would hide in a box until she was old enough to open a savings account of her own. At 18, she went to university to get a degree in business management. By the time she was 25, she was the treasury for Mickey and Rosalind's businesses, handling their money from the states. At 28, she was and continues to be the ambassador for multiple charities. A majority being children's charities for cancer research, donating half of her brother and sister-in-law's paycheques for her to those charities among others. Now at 35, she's helping her brother find a new person to take over his company- hence the meetings with his associates in New York.
Ray assumed that even though her and Mickey were so close, they must have fought a lot as kids just by the multiple ways Cami found to ignore him.
Like most mornings, Ray sat at the kitchen island and watched Cami move around the kitchen. This morning, she chose to wear wired headphones that were plugged into her iphone. He assumed she chose those ear pieces so he could see the wire and know not to talk to her. If not, then the loud music would tell him.
He rubbed his eyebrow, sighing in defeat. He wanted to apologize and try to live in as much harmony as they could. Although, she couldn't be too mad at him considering whenever they go to see Mickey, he asks how it is living with him to which Cami always praises him and even gives him a compliment. If she wanted to, she could have him easily fired and living in one of those shipping containers she had mentioned weeks prior.
Ray was snapped out of his thoughts as he saw Cami's hips start to swing absentmindedly as she ate, a fast paced salsa song beginning. Her dancing for the most part was pretty subtle but Ray noticed and couldn't stop himself from noticing.
For as annoying as she could be, he couldn't deny that she was beautiful. He also couldn't help the thoughts that would invade his mind whenever she came down in a long t-shirt to sleep in for a glass of water before bed or her morning coffee, or the dresses she would sometimes substitute for her jeans when they would visit Mickey or Rosalind at work.
Ray shook his head, ridding himself of those thoughts. As beautiful as she was, she was his bosses sister and he knew how protective Mickey was over her. He'd rather keep his job and maybe even his life, so his thoughts would have to remain just that; thoughts.
He watched as Cami rinsed out her bowl in the sink before putting it in the dishwasher, Ray clearing his throat of the dryness that overcame it as she bent over before making her way back to the bedroom without so much as a glance in his direction.
Sighing again, Ray pushed himself off the chair as he heard his doorbell. Turning the corner, he saw Cami walking towards the door to open it.
He quickly grabbed her hips, pulling her backwards as he looked through the peephole seeing Fletcher.
"What the fuck, Ray?" Cami whisper yelled.
Ray looked at her, quickly removing his hands that were still on her hips holding her against him. "Go upstairs." He ordered.
"Why? What's happening?" Cami asked, suddenly worried.
"Nothing's happening and nothing will happen. But the man out there is a complete cunt and also the one who showed me the proof that you were being watched. Go upstairs and don't come out until I come to you." Ray told her quietly.
