Chapter 6

"Explain yourselves, what is the meaning of this. Why are my captains fighting each other!" The Head Captain asked sternly. After the incident, Jushiro and Byakuya were led to the Head Captains office. All the other Captains stood at the side as both men stood at the front.

Ukitake bowed. "I apologize Head Captain, I was notified of some misconduct to my officer. I admit I could have handled the situation better, but I won't stand for anyone mistreating my officers." Ukitake's eyes turned on Byakuya.

"I was also informed on what happened. Apparently Unohana was the one who treated your officer when she was injured. I must say, I'm disappointed that such actions came from you Byakuya. Our goal here isn't to make enemies of each other. " Byakuya was silent.

"Punishment is in order. " Head captain informed. Ukitake looked pleased.

"You will be responsible for helping (L/N)-san recover. " Ukitake's eyes widened.

"H-Head captain he can't be trusted to-"

"My punishment is final. When she is fully recovered, you and her are to report to me. I can't have my officers afraid of each other. That is all. Leave. "

Ukitake gritted his teeth nodding. He turned to Byakuya. "If you harm her again, I will come after you. I don't care if you're a noble or not." with that Ukitake disappeared.

Byakuya stared at the door, a soft look of regret reflected in his usually stoic eyes.

"How is she doing?" Hanataro questioned softly. He watched as you lay on the bed unconscious. Soft breaths escaped you as Unohana held her hand over your body, a green glow shining from her hand as she healed you. "She's just exhausted. (Y/N)'s body isn't used to releasing such a high amount of reiatsu.

"I-Is it true? D-Did Kuchiki-taicho really attack her?" Hanataro was fidgeting. He knew Byakuya was often a stoic person. He seemed uncaring most of the time. But he was never one to attack a defenseless person, especially a reaper.

"I don't know maybe you should ask him, right Byakuya." Hanataro flinched when the door to the room slid open.

"K-Kuchiki-taicho!?!" Hanataro squeaked. He jumped to the side as Byakuya walked in. Unohona stopped healing as she turned to the dark haired male.

"Care to explain why she is in such a state. I'm usually not one to agree with rash actions, but if I were in 'Ukitake's shoes I would have done the same." Unohana opened her eyes and Hanataro swore the room dropped in temperature. His legs felt glued to the ground at the look she directed at Byakuya.

"If anything like this were to happen to my officers, I would definitely punish the person responsible." Byakuya had the feeling the statement was a threat.

A moment of silence fell and Unohana closed her eyes with a sweet smile.

"Well, I'll be taking my leave. You can stay if you wish Byakuya. However if I catch wind of any more of your weak attempts to help my patient, I'll have to take action." with that Unohana turned around. "Come on Hanataro." the blue haired boy stuttered before stumbling behind her.

"Y-Yes taicho!" he called as he followed her out the door.

Byakuya turned to your lying form. Your eyebrows were scrunched up and you looked a bit pale.

"How did I let it come to this.." He just watched you, eyes wavering slightly.

"Damn, my head feels like I got hammered. Where am I." you raised from your bed as you looked around rubbing your face.

You couldn't remember what you were doing before, or where you were. You looked around when you realized you were in Jushiro's bed.

"Oh right, he let me sleep here. " you stretched with a smile. "Ukitake-taicho sure is nice to me. I should get him something as a thank you." you grinned. "I should ask Shunsui-taicho he would know what Ukitake likes." you chuckled under your breath. "Ukitake-taicho would like just about anything I get." you laughed at the thought as you moved over to slide open the door.

"He's such a funny gu-" the door opened on its own and you looked up. Your eyes widened considerably.

"N-No!" you stumbled backwards, almost falling. The noble walked into the room making your heart pound as your searched for an exit. You looked up at his eyes, They were cold, empty of any kind of emotion.

"U-UKITAK-" your scream was cut off when he grabbed you by the throat. You gasped, grabbing at his hand that was around your neck as he lifted you off the ground. You were thrashing trying to get out of his grip as you struggled to breathe.

"S-sto..p" you forced out. He tightened his grip and you gritted your teeth as tears started to escape your eyes.

"Seems you didn't learn your lesson. No one is going to help you this time." you eyes shook when you saw him reach for his sword with his other hand.

"P-Please..." you cried but he didn't stop. He drew his sword looking you straight in the eyes.

"You're weak. You don't deserve to be alive."

"N-No w..wait!!" you were frantic. "I-Ichigo! U-Ukitak-

Byakuya plunged the sword right into your gut. The sound of the metal piercing your skin echoed in your ears. For a second you weren't sure what was happening. Everything felt like it had slowed down, When you saw your the blood drip unto the floor the pain finally reached your brain. You screamed out in pain as he twisted the sword in your stomach.

"DON'T KILL ME!!!!"

Byakuya was startled at you sudden yell. You jerked out of bed with a look of poor terror. When your eyes connected with him you screamed raising your hands. Byakuya was astonished at the bright red glow that shined in your palms. It took him a second to realize that was an attack aimed right for him.

He flashstepped, avoiding it at the last second. The beam hit the wall, alerting some of the other squad members of the explosion.

Unohana appeared in seconds. She spotted you now standing up shakily. Your eyes were bouncing off the walls. 

"(Y/N)-san it's alright ,your safe calm down." you shook your head.

"I'm n-not he tried to...to!" you swallowed as you dropped to your knees. Unohana was by your side helping you unto your feet.

Just then, Byakuya reappeared. You looked up, eyes growing wide. You cried, grabbing unto Unohana.

"H-He's going to kill me!! You yelled. Unohana turned in confusion. Her eyes watched and she saw Byakuya standing looking...hurt. She almost couldn't believe what she was seeing. She directed her look back at your trembling state. She had a feeling she knew what happened.

"It wasn't real." Unohana said calmly. You looked at her in alarm.

"W-What.." Unohana helped you back to the bed.

When you were securely tucked in she turned to Byakuya.

"You have deeply wounded her, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. You are the only one who can fix this. If she doesn't get over this fear I'm afraid she won't be able to continue being a reaper. These burst of reiatsu that keeps releasing from her body is not safe for her. If this continues, she's going to die. "

Your body froze at the information, and for a split second, a look of fear crossed Byakuya's orbs.

"She will...die" those words played over and over in his head as he watched you.
