chapter nine / cloud of smoke.
"REPULSIVE."
Adam cringes as he finds the boy clutching a cigarette within his index and middle finger. He lift his hand from his book and sets the cancer stick between his lips. He blows a cloud of smoke before turning to Adam, "What?"
"That shit." Adam points, "It'll kill you."
August shrugs.
"Why not just smoke weed?"
Another shrug. "I've got none."
Adam reaches in one of the pockets of his jacket and fiddles with the gram in his pocket for a moment, contemplating pulling it out --which he does .. eventually.
