The world outside the window was dark and the stars lightly littered the sky. Silence was filling the air. The smell of rain mingled within the breeze. The cold air flowing through the slightly opened window gave me chills. Down by the street the street lights were lit. The moon is sinking along the horizon. The air outside freezing the edges of the window. It was a cold night.

I turned back to my desk, red flashing on the clock in the corner on the dark wood surface. 5:04am read the clock. Papers covered in drawing were littered on the surface of the desk. Stuffed animals of many kinds sat along the edge. The colored pencils were sitting within a cup in the lap of a stuffed bear.

"I'll have to clean this later," I mumbled. I then kicked myself away from the desk, and began to spin the desk chair. Around and around and around.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

I stopped the desk chair. My world flipping around me. The door opened to reveal my brother, who was upside down.

"Sissy," He mumbled, the world standing straight again.

"Yeah William," I asked, standing at my full three feet and ten inches in height.

"Can we go to the park today, we haven't gone in awhile," He said, stepping further into the room as I pushed the chair back over to the desk where it would normally sit.

"If we have an adult with us then yes," I told him. "Until then, I'll tell you a story."

His face lit up. He then says, "Yeah, which story? The prince in the tower? The girl who works to achieve her dream? How a commoner girl became a queen without a king?"

"I was thinking of a new story," I told him, "Come sit down on the bed while I get some stuff."

William skipped over to the bed, his short brown hair bouncing as he went. I walked over to my desk, picked up some of the stuffed animals. I then rejoined William, placing the stuffys onto the bed as I sat cross cross beside him.

I picked up the stuffed animal that would now represent the prince of the story, and placed it into my knee. "There once lived a prince. The Prince was only six when we start. He lived in a castle along with his Mother, Father, and three siblings. Everything was handed to him, he never worked for anything, but he disliked every bit of it." I picked up five other stuffed animals and placed them onto my lap.

"One day the prince's Mother and him went down to the village near their castle," I said, picking up one of the stuffies out of my lap, this one would represent the queen. "The queen and the prince traveled through the village, talking with the commoners, and even buying some items from the shops. That day was one of his happiest of the prince's life, that is until they went to the bakery, that was where the prince's mother was taken away."

I placed the stuffy that represented the queen behind me, as if to resemble her as being "taken away".

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

"Mistress Abigail, your Father sent me to help you pack," The person on the other side of the door said. "It is currently six in the morning, and I presumed you would be awake by now. Am I allowed to enter?"

Ben Crooker, our butler was on the other side of the door.

"Yeah, but why are we packing," I asked, standing up from the bed, William grabbed onto my hand. The door opened to reveal a tall man, greying brown hair, his eyes a dark green. I turned towards the clock to see it was now flashing 6:17, I hadn't noticed that the time had passed by so quickly.

"Your Father says you're going on a trip," He answered, his face was as emotionless as a rock. "Master William will be joining you on your trip, I will help him soon."

"Do you know where we will be going Ben," I asked him as he retrieves a suitcase from the closet.

"I do not know," He answered, placing the suitcase onto the bed and unzipping it, and returning to the closet. "Master William, why don't you go play with your other siblings, surely they would like to play with you before you go."

"No, they don't like playing with me anymore," William said, squeezing my hand as he looked at Ben. Ben began to fold clothing on the bed that he had taken out of the closet.

"Am I allowed to bring stuff other than clothes," I asked Ben, feeling hopeful.

"Yes Mistress, you can bring your toys," He answered, turning around, his black suit the only thing visible once he enters the closet. "For your own sake you can only fill this bag, no more."

He pulled out a blue backpack with many pockets. He then handed me the backpack, and off I went, placing stuffed animals, small toy cars, a new sketchbook, and two pencils. I handed William one of my stuffed dogs, which he held tightly to his chest.

"Master William, join me pack your bag," Ben said, zipping up the suitcase he had packed for me. "Afterward, you are free until we begin your studies at noon."

"Okay Benny," William said, taking my hand as he began to walk out the bedroom door towards his bedroom on the other side of the hall. Ben followed close behind, closing the door to my room while William was opening the door to his room.

"Would young Master and young Mistress like their breakfast," I turned to see one of the maids, Silica Woods. She would normally sneek us sweets. She is quite pretty, with her dark brown hair tied back in a ponytail, with emerald green eyes, and lightly tones skin.

"Yay, food," William yelled, then ran after Silica for food.

"Once upon a time, there lived a Prince. He was told that he could do anything, big or small. He lived with his Father, Mother, two sisters, and a brother. They all lived happily for six years. That is until the day that the Prince's Mother and him went down to the town that the family ruled over.

"They entered the bakery and a very bad man had taken the Prince's Mother's life. After realizing what the bad man had done, he took the Prince away, and locked him in a tower. His Father, the King, struck with grief of his late wife didn't want to have his reputation to worsen from it's already crumbling status. He paid the bad man off to get his son back. From that point on the King ignored his children, only seeing them on their outings or during the occasional party.

"A year after the incident the Prince and the youngest Princess began to act differently from their two older siblings. They were different. Their two older siblings refused to play with the Prince and Princess. The news soon found its way to the King. He soon grew fearful that his children were going to damage his reputation more so than it's current crumbling status, soon sending the two away.

"The Prince and Princess were placed into a tower, far away from the castle they once lived in. There they lived for four years, in the care of a middle aged woman. Learning how to care for their own, never contacting their family who still lived in the great castle the two once lived in.

"They were isolated and alone, only each other and the middle aged woman to keep them company. Of course there were many other people living in the tower. The Prince and Princess had a difficult time making friends, and so they isolated themselves. From that point on the Prince wasn't considered a prince no longer, he was considered a person, a real person who doesn't need others to do everything for him.

"Abby, you've told me this story before, why are you telling me it again," Wiliam said, both interrupting me as well as causing me to lose my focus and drop the stuffed animals.

"Now you made me lose my focus, I was practicing, now we have to start all over," I said, crossing my arms, and looked at the five dolls that had just hit the ground a foot away.

"No-o," William wined, beginning to pick up the five dolls on the ground. "Why not just tell me a different story."

"Abigail, William, I need to talk to both of you about something," A woman called from the kitchen.

"Race you," William said, tossing the stuffed animals onto the bed and began running towards the door of the room.

"Your on little bud," I said, beginning to run after him.
