chapter 15 • the unravelling

CHAPTER 15

Taeyeon is this weird, hot-headed, but at the same time, a spontaneously sweet girl I met out of the blue. At first, I am just a fan from afar, but slowly but surely I took the smallest steps closer to her and now she's beside me. Trying to learn the job I am doing. Yes, she is THAT clingy. How handsome am I, right? Just kidding.

Anyway, Taeyeon and I spent the night together inside the cafe brewing some coffee and making lattes. I learned that she loves baking and even suggested to start selling them in my cafe too. Now, I am driving her home because it's obviously late already and she said she still has a schedule for tomorrow, which means she will skip her school again. Argh, I miss delivering foods in their classroom.

"So am I not gonna see you tomorrow?" I asked.

"Hmmm... Maybe. We'll see about that."

"It's okay. No pressure." I assured her but she pouted instead.

"You're gonna meet another girl, aren't you?" She maliciously said, her lips in pout and her arms crossed.

I chuckled, how come she always think that way.

"No." I answered with a smile on my face, "But if yes? Will you get angry then?" I glanced at her trying to see her face while driving. She's scrolling her phone now.

"I will," she simply said.

"You are angry already." I teased.

I heard her laugh because of it, "Yah! Do I already look that selfish to you?" She exclaimed.

"No. I like it."

Silence ate both of us once again after her chuckle.

I remember the day she said the magic words to me. It felt unreal at first. But she sounded so sincere and even repeated it many times. You don't know how much I have to control myself at that time. I wanted to kiss her so badly. Especially when she is THAT beautiful under the moonlight. Argh. She must have been expecting it too but, I must wait for the right time.

Besides, she acted weird the day after she said it. It made me think she is not yet sure or whatever... I have a lot of things going inside my head and heart right now. I don't know if I can handle it just yet.

"Yoboseyo?" I answered a call in the middle of the drive.

"Sir, madame is looking for you." A butler from our house said.

I sighed before finally answering, "I will be there in an hour."

"You have a meeting or something... this late?" Taeyeon immediately asked the moment I ended the call.

"U-Uhmm... Yeah. Something urgent came."

She just nodded and kept silent all the way.

"Goodnight, Taengoo." I smiled.

"Goodnight." She sweetly smiled too and proceeded inside her house.

And that's how we parted ways tonight.

Now, I am on our way to our mansion. Yes. I don't want to talk about this but I have to. I also wanted to tell Taeyeon about this as soon as possible. I just don't know when is the right timing.

"What are you up to?!" My mother threw a newspaper on my face. I saw how the maids lowered their heads as I get humiliated by my own mother in front of them.

"I let you have your own life and yet this is how you thought to repay me? To disgrace our family?!" She yelled. The nerves on her neck are like going to pop out because of anger.
