Charlotte watched from her locker, Henry was flirting with Jamie today. Two days ago it was Courtney, last week it was Brittany. She wanted so bad to shout at him "Am I invisible". How is it, he could be attracted to all these girls but never her. Maybe deep down he wasn't into black girls.
She gathered her things and made her way to the door. She figured she just walk by herself today. She needed time to reflect.
When she about a mile away from the store. Henry snagged her arm drawing her out of her thoughts. "Why didn't you wait for me and why aren't you answering your phone", yelled Henry.
"First of all you were busy and second", she said reaching into her pocket "my phone was still turn down from school". Charlotte's voice held an icy edge.
Henry looked at her intently. He knew something was must be going on, Charlotte was never this cool toward him. "What's wrong" he asked.
"Nothing wrong, you just yelled at me for no reason", said Charlotte.
"There was a reason, I was scared something was wrong, that you had gotten hurt, " stated Henry.
"Thanks for the concern but I am fine Henry so let just head on to work," said Charlotte with a small smile on her face.
The two finished their journey to the store but Henry kept feeling as if something else was going on. Work went fine and the two went home but Henry had this strange feeling that he was about to lose something big.
The next day at school, Jayden accidentally bump into Char. He helped her pick up her books, making a joke about not telling her boyfriend Henry. When she inform him that she and Henry were just friend. He asked her to have lunch with him.
Over the course of the next few days, word seem to pass amongst the guys in their class that Charlotte was available. It seem every class, lunch, before school and after guys were trying to flirt with her or ask her out. It seems that the guys at school all thought with Henry giving them angry glares behind Char's back that they were an item and they didn't approach her out of fear.
By Friday, Henry had enough, when lunch came he grab her hand leading her outside to talk.
"Henry is something wrong? why did you drag me out of the school ?, "asked Char.
"So we can have lunch together. I am tired of all these guys trying to take you away from me," huffed Henry.
" I'm not yours Hen, plus they are just being nice. They are no different from you when you are flirting with girls," stated Charlotte.
"Do you know what goes through my mind when I talk to those girls, Char. There is no way I'm letting anyone have those thoughts about you, said Henry
"Really Henry, you are being over dramatic. Those guys are just interested in me. What so wrong with that and again I am not yours. ", sassed Charlotte.
Just then Jayden walk us to them.
"Are we still on for Friday Char", asked Jayden.
"What going on Friday", Henry asked
"Jayden and I were planning to hang out at my place and the answer is yes" answered Char.
"Okay, see you Friday night," Jayden said with a smile.
"By the way her name is Charlotte, only I called her Char,"
seethe Henry.
Charlotte looked at Henry in disbelief. "What is wrong with you", she whispered yell at him.
"I don't want him or any of these jerks to take advantage of you, Char. If one those jerks was to hurt you. I would dismantle them. Captain Man would not be able to stop me. Seriously do you know how important you are to me", said Henry.
Charlotte jumped on Henry tackling him to ground in the biggest bear hug her smaller frame could give him. He hugged her back laughing. "Thank you, Hen for looking out for me. But I can handle myself. I am pretty good with a zapper remember Catcus Con", said Char. The two went and had lunch together.
Friday night came and Jayden and Charlotte we're having a good time watching TV, when Henry comes strolling downstairs from her room eating her gummy bears. Charlotte just stared at him in shock while Jayden ask what was going on.
"You're still here, I thought you would be gone by now", Henry said while sitting down next to Charlotte. He then took the blanket she had over her and fix it so he was snuggle up under the blanket also.
" Have you been here the whole time", ask Jayden in a piss off tone.
" No I just got here about 20 minutes ago, I showered and put on my PJs before coming downstairs and joining you guys", answered Henry as he laid his head in Charlotte's lap. Char just looked on in utter shock. She couldn't move or say anything she was so confused.
"How did you get in", ask Jayden.
"Why are you asking so many questions", replied Henry.
"Because we are on a date", answered Jayden.
"Date!, I thought you guys were just hanging out. Well now I guess all three of us are on a date. By the way the reason I here is because Char and I sleep over at each place every weekend", retorted Henry.
"Aren't you a little to old for sleepovers. Plus don't you have a date yourself or something", replied Jayden.
"No, we are not to old and what the problem, three people can watch a movie just like two people can", replied Henry with a smug smirk on his face. He could see he was pissing Jayden off. Maybe this jerk would leave and he could have Char all to himself.
" I think I will leave", stated Jayden getting up putting on his shoes and jacket. Charlotte was about to say something when Henry cut her off stating, " Goodnight, text us you made home safe".
Charlotte stood up causing can Henry to almost fall and walk behind Jayden. She apologized and promised to call him later.
She stormed back into the den fuming she was going to kill Henry. " Why are you here. What the hell just happened and why did you just ruined my date", she screamed at him.
"Date, I thought you were just hanging out with him. You are not allowed to date anyone," declared Henry.
"Allowed! Allowed! Henry, I don't know if you bump your head or something but you do not have any say in who I date", seethe Charlotte.
"Look Char, if you think for one minute, I am going to allow any one to hurt you, touch you, distract you or anything to make you less perfect; then you have bump your head. Charlotte, I wasn't lying when I said I would dismantle those guys for causing one tear to even form in your beautiful eyes. To know I let some guy totally unworthy of you to touch you would just kill me. Do you know how great you are?, Do you know how above their level, my level you are, Do you know how much I love you and to afraid to admit in fear of....."
Henry's rant was cut off by Charlotte smashing her lips against his. The kiss started off sweet and gentle, hesistant pecks, the soon became full open mouth soul sucking passionate kisses that left the both gasping for air
" I love you too, I waited so long to hear you say that, " smiled Char.
"Then why didn't you tell me to say it, your're supposed to be the smart one", said Henry.
"But what about all those other girls I see you flirt with!, asked Charlotte.
"Distractions from the fact that I can't have you. I am sorry that I ruined things tonight but you are mines Charlotte Page and I waited 6 years to tell you," smiled Henry.
"Then we both are stupid because I been waiting 6 years to hear it. I love you Henry and I am yours," smiled Charlotte.
" Yes!!! You are mines and I am yours. I have been wanting to say that for so long. Tomorrow at school I am going to announce it on the intercom", said Henry.
" Really, Henry is all that necessary", smiled Charlotte.
"Definitely, those dudes need to know that Chenry is real and that I am yours today, tomorrow, and in the future", declared Henry.
Charlotte just smiled kissing him, while silently agreeing that she was most definitely Henry's.
