Chapter 5: Lucy's Families Fate

I was shocked when they were led to the front of the court like sheep and the man as the sheperd. I waved at Lucy, but she moulthed that it wasn't the time. So I put my hand down and watched. The next thing was uncalled for."What are these Negros doing in my court?!" The Judge asked the man with a hint of anger, "And who are you?" The man replyed, "My name is Scott, I am a part of a oginization called, Make Them Free!, and these are my subjects." The Judge was confused but curios at the same time of to what this white man was doing by helping some Negros. "Well what is your defence?" asked The Judge. Scott stated his defence, "I am here to set this family free and help other people too." I just sat their with my dad without talking, Scott knew what he was doing, I will leave this to him. "Well I am sorry but the Jim Crow Laws state that these people are for our uses, they are colored and that's their fault, I pronounce this Case Closed!, good bye!" Faun said and then gestured the police to take them all out of the courthouse. The police started shoving them out, but Lucy's Dad and brother would not stand for this! They fought and fought the police, "STOP OR WE WILL SHOOT!" said the police. These words echoed through my mind, and I watched even though I was paralyzed with fear. The next event was horrible.One of the police men grabbed Lucy and held her down away from her family while she screamed. Then the shots came BANG! BANG! BANG! shooting all of her  family fell to the ground,Lucy screamed with horror and couldn't believe what has just happened. Lucy was taken away while screaming my name, I tried to move, but I couldn't, I was paralyzed from fear.
