My dad woke me up at 7:00 in the morning. "Its time to go to court!" he wispered in my ear. I got up, got dressed, and ran down stairs because my dad had started the car. I ran out the door and jumped in the car. My dad drove to the court. The judge was waiting for us when we arrived. "All stand for Judge Faun," said the police man. We stood up off our seats. "You may sit," Said the Judge. I sat down on the super comfy seats, its like my butt was on a cloud from heaven! The judge looked over to me and my dad. "What is your case?," She said to us. I glanced at my dad because I wasn't sure what to say. "I am here on account of a scripture my son read in church the other day." He said, "It is, All men are created equal." "Sir, have you read the Jim Crow laws?, they say the exact opposite, the Negros stay the way they are!" The Judge proclaimed. That statement made me furious! "Judge!, we are all equal, what if you were colored?!, how would u feel!, think about that!" I yelled at the judge. The split second I finished a man walked in with the family that I knew following behind him.
