I feel sad because an amazing person who I feel is my friend is in a position where he just doesn't feel like he should. He'll probably never resd this but it doesn't hurt to try and post this in his honor. Hope you like it C-man if you do read it :)

In the Dark

By Michelle

In the Dark there is no light

only the demons that come out during the night

In a place where sadness rains down

And all anyone can do is frown

Lays a boy locked in a cage

There he stays like a prop on  stage

Lost in his penny-less thoughts, hopes and dreams

He screams to the world, the evil fiend.

The tears he cries have no bounds

just like a clock's ticking sound

Up above life goes on

but in reality no one truly gets along

from a blacony in a high tower

a young trapped girl hides for hours

her only friend a ball of light

truly nothing much but it still suffice

On a cold dreary night she hears the boy's cries

She immediately gets teary eyes

"If only there was something I could do

just to make that boy smile."

The girl thought hard and long

no one really gave her harm

So out she went,

down the long winding steps in

into the depths of a cold dark hell

With her is her small ball of light

silently guiding her through the night

Just when she starts to lose hope

a sad tune has made itself known

Heading towards the sound

she could not belive what she had found

A boy a year ahead or two

was singing in a cage that hardly looked new

The song suddenly ended and in a gasp of fright

The young girl turned on the light

The boy squinted at first at the feel of something new

something he was just not used to

"Hello there would you like to play?"

A small voiced rang through the silence

The boy looked up and saw the girl

A smile on her lips and hands spread out wide

The cage dispersed without a trace

no lock, no gate, or stupid old curse

Just a boy and a girl in a field of white

"Would you please be my friend?"

Again the boy looked up at the girl

a smile tugging at his lips

"Yes." he said and that's the end

A bit of like a short story instead of a poem ah well, I like it at least :) Hope you enjoyed it. Please comment and vote. It would make my day. And to Chris, Just hang in there my friend you'll see the world will get better if you stick with your friends:) Bye Bye.
