Autumn's POV

It was March, the middle of the semester, we were already a few years into our education at Forks High. My family and I quickly found our role as untouchables of a sort in the social hierarchy of the small town. At first I was a little bit nervous since it had been about two decades since I had gone to high school and the first time my experience was not all that pleasant. However, my siblings made sure no one looked at me the wrong way, glaring with a bone chilling stare at anyone who did.

I was making my way down the staircase to hop in the car with Jasper and Alice for another day of school, my backpack slung lazily over my shoulder. I smiled at my family as they headed out the door too, them involved in their own small conversations that I could not hear, however I received a few small smiles back from those who weren't conversing.

I closed the door to the backseat where I sat in the car and fastened my seatbelt. Even if I didn't need a seatbelt, you could never be too careful about raising suspicions around the humans. The greenery of the forest flashed by in the window and I made a mental note to do a watercolor painting of it later, focusing on remembering the scene in my head. A gentle tap on my shoulder shook me out of my thoughts, We're here, Alice signed to me with a smile.

I stepped out of the car and followed Jasper into first period which we had together, U.S History. Jasper helped me a lot in this class, he did after all, have some first hand experience. The day droned on and I added to my copious amounts of drawings in the margins of my papers.

Lunch came around and I fell in step with Edward on the way to the cafeteria who I had what seemed like a one sided conversation with to the humans, we did this the most out of every one. Rosalie and Emmett walked together in front, Jasper and Alice held hands affectionately and walked in the middle, and Edward and I took our time following last.

'How's school treating you? Everyone is being nice?' Edward asked in a protective brotherly way.

I smiled at him, Of course Ed, I love school. Although, Mrs.Marks wanted to submit my latest piece to the Art competition in Port Angeles and I had to tell her no because, you know, I thought to him in my head.

'I'm sorry Autumn,' He looked at me with a sad smile, 'We just can't risk any of us getting recognized, too many questions would be brought up over time...I'm sure your piece would win though, show me it when we get home why don't you?'
