I woke up to tapping on my window again. It was dark out, but I could still make out the owl that I had seen before.
I slowly opened the window, careful not to make any sound. Gabe would kill me if I woke him up.
I quickly unraveled the letter from the owl's leg, spotting the Hogwarts crest again. I opened the letter and read:
Dear Mr. Jackson,
We will be sending a worker to help get you everything you need on July 30. Now to answer your questions. Hogwarts is located at an undisclosed place in Scotland. You will be arriving at Hogwarts by train. Platform 9 3/4 from Kings Cross Station. You will soon be taken to Diagonal Alley to collect all of the supplies you need for your first year at Hogwarts. And lastly, you are a wizard. Hogwarts teaches many wizards and witches to use magic and learn many other skills for the wizarding world. You are a muggleborn, so your parents couldn't teach you about our world. Your parents were not magical. Hogwarts will do the best they can to fill you in.
On July 30. A man named Rubeus Hagrid will collect you to get your supplies. I hope to see you on September 1.
Sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall.
I struggled to remember what today was. And then it hit me. Today was July 30.
It was about 5 AM, judging by the light outside. When I went to bed it had been July 29. Which meant that I was going to be picked up by a wizard named Rubeus Hagrid to collect my magical wizarding supplies for the magical wizarding school.
I only wished Harry could go with me.
I went to look at the owl and saw a giant of a man stepping out of a taxi and telling it to wait. It was amazing he even fit inside of the cab.
He knocked on the door and I heard my step-dad shout, "Who is it?" Great. He's been woken up.
"My name is Rubeus Hagrid, and I'm ere to see Perseus Jackson!" The giant of a man shouted.
I immediately shot up. I looked around my room frantically, looking at everything.
I quickly grabbed my school bag and dumped all of my books out of it, choosing to grab just a few things. A notebook and some pencils. My jacket. A few snacks. And all of the money I owned, which wasn't much. I also grabbed the present Id gotten for Harry. I had a feeling I'd need it.
Just everything I thought I'd need. I then ran down the stairs just as Smelly Gabe shouted, "Boy! Someone's looking for you!"
I stopped in front of the man, unable to stop myself, "You're tall."
He chuckled and all I could see was kindness in his dark eyes, "Yer righ. Yer Perseus?"
"Yes, I am. But I prefer Percy."
"Alrigh... are you all rea'e to go?"
I smiled up at him and nodded. I glanced back to see the Smelly Gabe has just closed the door.
Hagrid nodded, "There's another boy I'm suppos to be helping. He doesn seem to ave go'en is le'er yet. Do you mind if we go ge im firs?"
I shook my head, "It's cool. What's his name?"
"Arry Potter. The boy who lived," Hagrid said with a proud expression hidden beneath his tangly beard.
"Harry Potter? I know him. He's my best friend. What do you mean by the boy who lived, though?" I asked as we stepped into the taxi.
"Every young witch an wizar shoul know abou the boy who lived. 10 years ago, there was a very dark wizar. He wan'ed to rule the world. To kill all muggles and muggleborn, like yerself. Some of the people fighing agains He Who Mus No Be Named were Arry's parens. The Dark Lord broke ino the Potter house, killin both James and Lilly Potter. Good people, they were. Then the Dark Lord tried to kill Arry, but somehow the spell bafired, killin the Dark Lord insead. He ha it Arry with the killin curse. No one as been able to survive the killin curse. No one. Cept for Arry," Hagrid said, looking proud but also a little sad.
Personally, I was confused, "Harry said his parents died in a car crash? That's how he got the scar."
"I suppose e knew you weren suppose to know abou the magical worl. E couldn tell you abou tha worl."
I nodded slowly and looked out the window, watching as we stopped in front of the Dursley's house. Their car still wasn't there.
Hagrid walked up to the house and picked one of the Hogwarts letters off of the ground. I figured that the Dursleys hadn't let him open it.
Hagrid turned to look at me, "This may take a lil longer tha I though."
I smiled, "I'm cool with it. I get to hang out with an awesome wizard man instead of my Smelly step-dad all day. We can take as long as you need."
He looked a little surprised but nodded anyways. Hagrid surprised me by pulling out a bright pink umbrella and pointing it towards the letter in his hand.
"Appare Vestigium," Hagrid said. Hagrid looked up and focused on something I couldn't see, "Don tell anyone abou me usin magic like tha, will ya? I'm not xactly suppose to use magic."
I nodded, "I won't say anything. Can you, like, see Harry's footprints or something?"
Hagrid looked at me surprised, "The spell shows the magic fooprins of whoever yer trackin. How you know?"
"Appare Vestigium means 'appear footprint' in Latin," I shrugged, wishing I could see whatever he saw. It would be pretty cool.
We got back into the taxi and we were taken to a small and shabby hotel. While Hagrid talked to the man behind the counter, I drew stuff. Stuff from the dream I had last night.
I was transferring everything from my other account, which I wrote this on, to this account, and noticed that this chapter has exactly 999 words. Also, when I first copy/pasted this chapter, I just pasted the first chapter, and I almost didn't notice. That would have been almost as embarrassing as the time I confidently said, "2 + 2 = 2!" I said I was bad at English. I am also bad at math. (Somehow I'm taking Algebra - Algebra - and not failing.) I got a 95(!) on my last test. That was awesome. I'm worse at typing for Hagrid than I am at English. Holy guacamole, that was painful to reread. Comment a better way for me to type what he said. It's greatly needed (So no one else has to bleach their eyeballs after reading another random fanfiction).
Later, guys gals and non-binary pals. Lindin Capps is out!
