Arlo's PoV

As Holden and I left the cafeteria, he asked me a weird question;

"Yo, Arlo, I was wondering. Did you ever, you know, mess with instruments and stuff when you were a kid?" Holden said.

"I did take violin and piano lessons with a private instructor and I sang in a middle school choir for a while--"

"Nonono! I mean, just for fun!" Holden exclaimed.

Fun? "..No, I never did." I replied.

Holden sighed. "Did you even have a childhood?"

I mean, I played UNO a few times... Does that count? "...No. Why do you suddenly ask about this?"

"Well, uh, I was, you know, walking around the school earlier and I heard this random low tier talking about drums and such-"

"Who was this low tier?"

"How would I remember? There's so many of them," Holden said indignantly. "Besides, they're not all that important."

"Fair enough," I replied. I didn't really think too much about the lower ranks for obvious reasons; I had duties as the "King" of Wellston.

Fun? Well, sometimes keeping order can be a bit boring, especially at my rank. Nobody really fights while I'm with them: they all just stay away until I'm gone and then resume; all I really do is just stand there and shout at people.

Hmm.. Maybe I should go to the music room to check it out. I mean, it's not like anyone else is going to be there. They're still probably fighting in the lunch room over some cake or something.

"Holden." I said

"Yeah?" He said, slightly confused.

"Let's go to the music room for a bit, I want to see if I like anything there." I said, thinking of all the instruments that could be there.

Hmm, what could I play? Hmm... Wait. I have to make a mental list of all the instruments I know of:

Violin
Piano
Viola
That big violin you held- wait don't you hold all of the-

-Oh. Guess I really didn't care much for music as a child, did I? Well, maybe this trip will help me a bit.

I sighed, slightly embarrassed at my lack of knowledge in this area and walked to where I thought the music room was with Holden at my side, alert as always.

Wait, where even is the music room?

"Holden," I began, "where's the music room?"

Holden looked stunned for half a second, perhaps surprised that the King himself didn't know the school's layout. He shook this expression off before smiling and walking slightly faster in the opposite direction.

Oh, seems that I was leading us the wrong way. At least Holden knows where it is.

I was deep in thought while we were making our way to the music room, thinking about what John was going to do next and his next targets. There was someone in front of the room. Most likely a mid tier.

They moved out the way as soon as they spotted Holden and I, wary of our purpose here, shocked. They looked even more shocked as soon as they realised that we were going into the music room.

As we walked inside, I spotted a few mid tiers. They were just messing around with the instruments, with one of them throwing a cymbal like a frisbee. Another was holding a violin like a baseball bat. I glanced at Holden to see an expression of fury on his face.
