She sat by a pond, aimlessly looking at the reflections in the water, studying the ripples and little creatures underneath the waters. So fragile, but free. Her wolf was pacing in her mind, restless. She sighed and tore her eyes from the water and gazed up to the sky. Isn't it beautiful, Jewel? Her wolf stopped and looked through the eyes of her human. Breath taking. Her wolf paused the pacing, admiring the star-filled sky. When will I see you? Soon, my dear Jay. Soon.
Okay.

Their eyes stay glued to the dark night with the twinkling lights.

"Princess, we've been searching for you." Her most favorite worker in the castle came to her side.

"Oh, Damien," she sighed. "This sight is better than such a stupid ball. I love the outdoors." The princess smiled to her butler, him returning it.

"But," he began. "Your Majesties are awaiting your extravagant entrance. The one that was supposed to happen at least," he pulled out his pocket watch. "An hour ago."

She shot up from her seat. "An hour?!" She hurriedly ran past Damien, who was chuckling, and began her sprint towards the castle attempting, and surprisingly succeeding, at not getting a single scratch on her pale skin or deep purple gown.

But, when she reached the castle, all she saw was crimson red.

Her nostrils were filled with the metallic smell. Oh my God. Jewel. Her wolf was speechless and horror struck at the massive sight in front of her. Rouge attack. It's not safe, Jay. We must leave.

"Princess!" Damien was at the door, bent over holding his knee, trying to catch his breath. "Why'd you-" he stopped mid sentence. "No." His eyes went over the piles of bodies scattering the once spotless, porcelain floor. "I was only gone an hour, and heard nothing." Damien's eyes watered at the sight of his Queen and King. Their bodies at the top, where their thrones were.

"No." Jay's voice cracked at the sight. Surely, those are not my parents. But, they are, my dear. And I am so so sorry.

Jay broke into tears, where Damien came to her side, and comforted the thirteen year old.

She was never the same again.

She worked herself harder and pushed herself, bypassing her limits. She wasn't the once fragile princess when she lived in the castle. No, she was now one of the most highly respected warriors.

When she was accepted into the Onyx Pack, she hid her wolf, not wanting anyone to know that she was one of the last, or probably the only, pure black wolf.

And so, she only remained in battle in human form that's what made her special.

And took the attention of The Hunter.
