Sitting in the bed looking at tv I thought about my life. Jarod took everything for me. He hurt me and used me then had the nerve to rape and beat me. How can I be so stupid? I blamed myself for this.
I should have been left him alone. But now I have a good man that loves me and treats me right. Daniel is coming over tonight to stay with me. He doesn't trust Jarod around me and to be honest neither do I.
My cell phone started ringing. I picked it up and looked at the caller ID. I did not recognize the number so I answered it.
"Hello?" Michelle said.
"Please don't hang up. I'm sorry for what I did to you." Jarod said fast.
"How dare you call my cell after what you did to me? You will pay for what you done and I mean that." Michelle yelled.
"Baby I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." Jarod explains.
"Fuck you!" Michelle yells.
Michelle hung up the phone and put her hands over her face. She didn't want to cry but the tears came down against her will. Wiping the tears from her eyes she went and sat back on the chair.
As she sat there thinking about the idea of him calling her she threw her phone on the table. Taking a deep breath and sat back. She caught her breath and calmed down. There was a knock on the door. Michelle jumped when she heard it. She just sat there and looked at the door. She slowly got up and eased her way to the door. Placing her hand on the door she slowly leaned in and looked out the peep hole. She saw it was Daniel. She exhaled and opened the door.
"Damn baby what took you so long? You had me worried. I thought something was wrong." Daniel said grabbing her and holding her close to him.
"I'm ok baby. I was just startled when you knocked on the door. I just been jumpy lately after what Jarod did." Michelle explained as she laid in his chest.
"You don't ever have to worry about that nigga again. I texted him back when he texted you and told him what the deal was." Daniel explained to Michelle.
"And what did he say?" She asked as they walked to the sofa.
"He got mad I guess. He didn't respond. But I said what I said and that is all that matters." Daniel said to her.
Michelle looked at him and just dazed off. She heard what he said but she kept going back to Jarod beating her and raping her. Daniel looked at her and lifts her head to him. He looked down at her and gave her a smile.
"You know I got you right? You don't have to worry about that nigga ever bothering you again. As long as I'm here with you. You hear me?" He asked her still looking at her.
Michelle shook her head yes. She knew he was gonna protect her but she still didn't feel comfortable in her own self like she did before.
"You don't look convinced about that." Daniel said to her as he runs his hands through her hair.
"I hear you. I'm just shook about this entire thing. He attacked me in a bad way. And that got me in a mood. I just want to feel normal again. With all that has happened and then this." Michelle explains to him.
Daniel just looks at her and listens to what she was saying. All he wanted to do is protect her and let her know that he wasn't gonna let nothing happen to him. But he knew at this point that was not gonna happen. But he was not gonna stop at anything to prove that he loved her and he was not gonna touch her ever again.
"Have you talked to your sister today?" Daniel asked Michelle.
Michelle shook her head No and laid her head on his lap.
"Why haven't you talked to her? She's called me a few times today. She's worried sick about you." Daniel said to her.
"I don't want to talk to anyone bae. I just want to just lay here. Is that ok?" Michelle said back to him.
"Yes baby. That's absolutely fine with me. I'm here." Daniel said as he leaned down and kissed her forehead and leaned back on the chair.
They sat there for a little in silence. Michelle just sat there and stared off in space. She didn't know what to think at this point. After a few moments she cell started ringing. It scared her. She jumped and looked up at Daniel.
"Give me your phone. You don't have to answer that if you don't want to. I can do it." Daniel said holding his hand out to Michelle.
Michelle didn't even look at the caller ID. She just passed the phone to Daniel. He looked at the caller ID and saw that it said private. He already had a feeling who it was. He answered the phone with a little hostility in his voice.
"What do you want? I told you not to call this damn number again. And yet you still did it." Daniel said not wasting no time at all.
"This ain't your phone nigga. Give my baby the phone." Jarod said to him.
"Baby? That is not your baby nigga. And if you call this number again I will have you arrested. Do I make myself clear?" Daniel yells at him.
"You can't do that." He said to Daniel.
"I can and I will. Try me if you think I'm bullshitting. My girl don't want you and don't call this number again." Daniel said as he hung the phone up in his face.
Michelle turns over and looked at him.
"Is he gone?" She asked Daniel.
"Yes no need to worry about that. Lay down bae. I got this." Daniel said.
