Harley Quinn x Reader

You loved Harley and Harley loved you. She had left the Joker for you and you couldn't have been happier living a life of crime with her. All good things have to come to an end though.

You laughed as Harley jumped inside of the get away car and you took off. You and Harley had been wrecking havoc together for awhile now. Ever since she had left the Joker to be with you.
You looked in the rearview mirror as you heard the sirens. You turned to Harley with a smirk.

"What do you say that we give these cops a fun little car chase my love." Harley smiled and started bouncing in her seat giddily.

"Oh yes that would be perfect." She rolled down her window and stuck half her body out as she began to yell taunt and tease the cops chasing the both of you. You just let out a loud booming laugh and let her do her. She may be crazy but you loved every part of her. You honestly felt like she was your forever and you planned on making sure she knew that. You had stolen a ring for her a couple months back and you carried it with you everywhere. You never knew when the right time would come and you wanted to make sure you were prepared for that moment.

"Faster (Y/N)! Faster!" Harley yelled with laughter in her voice. You smiled and shook your head but pushed the car to go faster. Who were you to deny her? You would honestly do anything for her. Your humor faded though as you heard the cops begin to fire at the car. You let out a low growl. They could hurt Harley if they kept up doing that. Everyone knew they didn't always have the best aim and just shot blindly hoping to find their target by luck. You reached over and pulled Harley back inside the car. She looked over to you with a frown and was about to complain when she saw the look in your eyes. She had only seen that look twice before. Once when she had left Joker for you and he had tried to have her killed for it. He was found dead 2 days later. The other time was when a stray bullet had managed to hit her shoulder in a shot out with the cops. None of them made it out of there alive. She just leaned back in her seat and smirked knowing that these cops had no idea who they were about to have to face. You began to speed through the streets with a destination in mind. You made sure you never lost the cops though. The plan wouldn't work if you lost them. It took longer than you would've liked but you made it to the perfect place. You knew the cops were just a couple minutes behind you. You parked the car quickly and jumped out with Harley following behind you. You quickly entered the code to the door and the both of you slide inside the door. The sounds of the sirens approaching brought a smile to your face. These cops really should have learned after last time.
"How do you feel about a good old shoot out darlin?" You had a sadistic smirk on your face as you asked Harley. She jumped up and down while clapping her hands.
"Oh that would be perfect!" You gave her a passionate kiss on her lips. You felt it in your gut that after this would be the right time. You would be proposing to her as soon as all the cops were taken care of. You both quickly grabbed your favorite weapons and you grabbed a couple of extra frag grenades just in case. You quickly hurried up the steps to roof and Harley followed behind you. You made it up there just in time for the cops to arrive. As soon as the first cop car pulled up and stopped all hell broke lose. You grapped the rocket launcher beside you, took aim quickly and fired. The explosion that resulted caused a giddy laugh from Harley and that made you smile. You loved being able to make her smile and laugh however you could. You weren't able to focus on her for much longer before you heard more cops pull up and begin to fire. A grin that rivaled the jokers overcame your lips and you grabbed you favorite gun, (it had been Harleys first present to you), and began to fire back. Harley laughed as she began to fire on the cops. The shiot out had only been going on for 30 min but the both of you had managed to take down a helicopter and quite a few cops. It looked like they were about to begin to try and leave to save what lives they could..
"Yea thats right run!" Harley shouted at the top of her lungs. She fired off a couple more shots with the most beautiful grin you had ever seen on her face.. You got distracted, I mean who wouldn't by Harley, but that slight distraction costed you. One of the cops got a lucky shot off as he was running and next thing you knew there was a ripping and burning feeling in your chest. You immediately raised your hand to your chest and felt something wet. When you pulled your hand away it was covered in red liquid which you shortly realized was your blood as you felt yourself fall back. You heard the scream that came from Harley. It was the worst sound to ever hit your ears.
"NO (Y/N)!" Harley was beside you in an instant with her hands trying to keep pressure where the blood was escaping your body. You coughed and some blood came up with it. You looked at the blood a d for the first time in your life you became truly terrified. You weren't ready. You and Harley had just begun. You hadn't had nearly enough time yet. You could feel the panic seeping in. You could barely hear Harley begging for you to stay or her telling you that if you died she would kill you. You reached into your pocket and pulled out the box now covered in blood.
"I l...love you Har...Harley." you began and Harley was shaking her head with tears streaning down her face. She had never felt this amount of pain and fear in her life. She couldn't lose you. Not after she had just found you. " I want yo...you to ha...have this. Remember," you began to cough again and more blood came up. "Me darlin. T...take th...this ring. Fr...from me t..to you. My hea..heart is y...your...yours forever." You placed the box by her hands on your chest. You didn't want to leave her but you knew you didn't have a choice anymore.
"No no no no no! You can't (Y/N)! If you die i will kill you. We aren't done yet! NOT YET!" Sadly no amount of begging or threatening was going to be able to save you and as you took one last gasping breath you said,
"I'm sor...sorry. I lo..love you darlin." Harley began to scream and beg for you to come back when the light left your eyes. Something snapped in her right then. She picked up the box and opened it. The ring inside was perfect. She placed it on her finger. Gotham was not prepared for the hell that was to be unleashed on them. Harley was going to burn the entire city down and nothing would be able to stop her. She glanced down at your body and felt her heart and all the tiny broken pieces turn to dust.
"Don't worry love. I will take care of this for you." As she began to leave all she could think is that once she was done there would be nothing left of Gotham.

Edit- Came back and I was able to finish this story. I hope yall aren't disappointed with the ending.
