After Tyler and Gerard got ready that morning they quickly went to Mr. Armstrong's office. They walked faster than normal because they didn't want any teachers or other students realizing they were wearing regular clothes, and not their uniforms. They wouldn't have to be in class until later and they didn't know how long they would be in Mr. Armstrong's office, so they didn't want to wear their uniforms if they didn't need to.
About a 5 minute walk later, they reached Mr. Armstrong's office, Gerard knocked on the door, "Come in." A quiet voice said from the other side of the door. Tyler walked in first then Gerard, "Oh! Tyler! Gerard! What a pleasant surprise! Why are you boys dropping by?" Mr. Armstrong said in an over excited voice, well what else do you expect from him? They are his favorite students at the school.
Gerard spoke first since Tyler hid behind the taller boy, "Well, we came here to talk to you about Bob and his stupid 'gang'." Gerard pushed Tyler into one of the seats in front of Mr. Armstrong's desk and he sat in the one on the left of Tyler. Mr. Armstrong sighed heavily, "Those boys I swear, what happened?" Gerard motioned Tyler to speak, after clearing his voice Tyler began to speak, "Um... well, they have been bullying me..." He sunk more into his seat, "They've been bullying you? What have they done?" Mr. Armstrong put his elbows on his desk and leans his head into his hands with a pissed off look that scares the two boys.
"It's mainly just Bob and Spencer, they other ones just stand behind them and laugh. Uh... they call me loser, emo, gay, and emo fag. Sometimes they also call me a crybaby and ugly bitch but they mainly stick to calling me loser, emo, gay, and emo fag. They also like to push me around and slamming me into lockers... they sometimes threaten to hurt me even more." At this point Tyler is sobbing so Gerard starts talking, "I don't know how long this has been happening, but I think it started when we joined the school in 7th grade. It's affected him a lot, growing up he was always an outgoing kid, he loved showing off his talents, and was friends with everyone, now he barely talks in class, never brings up his singing or how he passed a test, and only has 4 friends. It's breaking my heart watching my best friend go through this, please Mr. Armstrong you have to help." Gerard starts crying too, he just misses how Tyler was.
"Please boys, call me Billie, we've known each other for about 5 years. I will try my best to fix this, most I can do right now is observe things and if I see something bad happening to Tyler or any of my students that's inflected by Bob and his friends I will immediately step in. I shall also notify the teachers of this happening so if they see it, they will call me." Billie, stands up to walk over to Tyler and squats right in front of him, "I will do everything I can to help, okay?" He patted Tyler's knee in a fatherly way, "Okay..." Tyler choked out through his tears.
"You boys can go, I'll email all the teachers and keep an eye on the cameras." Billie stood up and went back to his desk. "Okay, thank you so much, bye." Gerard stood up, Tyler following his actions, both boys left to go change into their uniforms. They only missed 1st period so that's good, they rushed to their dorm and changed really fast.. After changing they parted ways, Gerard went to math and Tyler went to history.
Ray was sitting in history when the door burst open, he looked away from the teacher to see some boy rushing into the room. "Ah, Mr. Joseph you finally decided to join us." the teacher said in a annoyed voice, "Sorry sir, I had to talk to Mr. Armstrong quickly." The boy said in a small voice and looked at his feet, "That's fine, next time get a pass, get to your seat." The teacher motioned for him to sit. The boy sat in the way back but specifically right behind Ray.
Ray's POV:
That kid looks familiar... Where have I seen him before? Hmm it doesn't matter, I should pay attention to class either way. I hate this class so much, the teacher is so rude to us, and he doesn't even know what he is doing, I have to look up what we are learning with every lesson so I know what it's actually about not whatever bullshit he is teaching us."Yo, Ray." Frank whispers to me, "What?" I turn to my right. "The kid behind you won't stop staring at you." I roll my eyes, really? He kinda has to look in my direction to see the teacher, "So? He kinda has to look in my direction to see the teacher." "He isn't even looking at the teacher, he is looking at your hair." Frank giggles, I hold back my laughter, "Dude you're such a child, my hair is crazy and everyone stares at it." I have a point, I have a gigantic fro. "True, anyway let's just get this class over with so I can go to english with Gerard..." At this point Frank is drooling over his crush, Gerard, ever since he accidentally bumped into him during 7th grade he has had the biggest crush on him, I roll my eyes, "You're basically in love with him." Frank chokes, "I am not!" I giggle. "Whatever helps you sleep at night bud." I turn my head back to face the teacher.
The bell rings, I must have zoned out because this class went by faster than it normally does. Frank practically jumps out of his chair, "Dudeeeee let's goooo, you're taking forever." He didn't need to whine right into my ear, "Yeah yeah whatever." I stand up but as I do I accidentally bump into the kid that sits behind me. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention." I can't believe I just did that, the kid looks up at me "Nah, it's fine." He looks scared, why? "You sure? I feel really bad for bumping into you." He then smiles, "Seriously dude, it's fine" the boy begins to walk away but something in me takes over and I put my hand on his shoulder, "Uh... I'm Ray by the way." I smile, "I'm Tyler, I would love to continue talking but I got to get to class." He smiles back. "I get that, bye." I take my hand off his shoulder and he turns around to walk out of the class.
"Bro, what even was that." Frank tries not to laugh, I roll my eyes, "I have no idea, come on let's go to class." At that point, Frank is dragging me to english but that's when I notice something out of the corner of my eye. Bob, Spencer, and their friends are surrounding someone... I should help because no one else will, I stop walking, "I'll meet you in class." Frank looks back at me confused, "Why?" I point to Bob and his group, Frank makes an O with his lips, "What are you going to do?" I say quietly, "I'm going to help whoever they are bullying." I pry Frank's hand off of my wrist and quickly walk over to the crowd of boys.
As I'm in ear shot of what they are saying, all I here is them throwing around the words, emo, fag, and loser. When I'm close enough to see who it is I'm dumbfounded, they are picking on Tyler, why would they do that? He seems so sweet and happy. I push Bob out of the way, "What the hell Bob?!" Bob scoffs, "Go away Toro, we can do what we want." Who does he think he is? "You sure about that? I don't think you can." At this point Bob is getting mad, he has always had a short temper. "Fuck you Toro." Really? Did he just actually say that I think I might laugh. "Nah, I'm good but thanks for the offer."
Bob gets ready to form another comeback until Mr. Armstong and a few other staff members burst down the hallway.
"I NEED BOB BRYAR, SPENCER SMITH, AND THE REST OF THOSE BOYS OVER HERE. NOW." He practically screamed from a distance. I'd never heard him so mad before, he sounded furious. But, I'm glad he was. Tyler shouldn't have even been being bullied in the first place.
As the group of bullies made their way down the now silent hallway, Mr. Armstrong whispered something to one of the teachers who was standing next to him. He nodded, then approached Tyler in an attempt to comfort him.
Finally, I thought to myself. This school is actually going to do something about these mediocre dipshits.
The group of boys exited the hallway with Mr. Armstong and walked towards his office. I just prayed they'd get expelled or something that way Tyler wouldn't have to go through that kind of behavior towards him as much anymore.
As I turn to head to class, the teacher that is trying to comfort Tyler stops me, "Mr. Toro, Tyler would like to speak to you." I head over to Tyler, "Yeah?" I lean against the lockers but before I can Tyler hugs me, I'm taken aback for a couple seconds before hugging him back. After a few moments Tyler pulls away and starts talking, "Thank you so much for making them stop. I was so afraid Billi- Mr. Armstrong wasn't going to step in like he said he would." The shorter boy is bawling and my heart literally breaks.
"You don't have to thank me, that's what friends are for." I smile down at him, he looks dumb founded "We're friends?" "Yeah of course!" He smiles back at me and legit giggles. He fucking giggled. "Well since I'm excused from classes for the rest of the day... you want to hang out for a little bit?" Tyler asks me in a quiet voice, I look up at the teacher that's just standing there awkwardly, "Is it cool if I stay with him today?" I ask nicely, she nods her head. I smile and look back at Tyler, "Yes, I would love to."
