a million thoughts raced through moomins head.

was snufkin,,, hiding from him? did he drive snufkin to isolation? why is he up so early? did he sleep at all? did moomin hurt him?

he wasn't sure what to do. he wanted to run back to his bed and stay there. but the then realised that's exactly what snufkin was doing, and it hurt. after some intense thinking, he came to a conclusion.

he was going to find snufkin, and he was going to make him explain.

he wasn't sure where to look first. he figured the beach might be a good bet. maybe he was in a cave or something? him and snufkin would go down to the caves sometimes to look for interesting rocks and shells. but it would be quite dark in the caves, since it wasn't full daylight, so he decided to play it safe and go get his lantern from his bedside.

snufkin had grabbed as much kindling as he could carry, so he made his was back to his tent. he figured he had maybe 30 minutes until daylight, so he wanted to make the most of it. he was sure that nobody would be outside anytime soon anyway, since it was quite chilly.

he didn't venture far, so it only took him about a minute or two to reach his tent. he placed all of the twigs and sticks into a pile beside his tent, not too close to the fire, at that could be dangerous. he threw a few good sized pieces of bark onto the coals, and then realised his hands were covered in splinters.  (authors note: that would look fucking hilarious, floating splinters.)

he went to go wash his hands off in the stream, hoping it would loosen the splinters, and spotted something, or rather someone, about 20 feet away. it took a moment for his eyes to focus, but once he could make out what it was, he froze.

it was moomin. and he was looking right back at him.

i'm sorry,, this one is short. it took me forever to write this for some reason. i'll update asap!!!!
