Connor's POV
We had hit Jason with the potion and we were now on our way to lunch. I was excited to see how Frank, Hazel, and Jason would turn out, though I had an idea.
Travis and I walked into the pavilion, Travis looking devious and excited as ever. "This is so exciting!" Travis said.
"I can't believe we got all of the Seven - well, besides Piper!" I exclaimed.
"And think," Travis said. "We owe this all to Drew."
"Drew's really a genius, huh?" I said.
Travis nodded vigorously. Suddenly, a wide grin crept across his face. "Oh my gods, look at Katie!" Travis snorted.
Katie Gardner was sitting at her table, a total mess and covered in food, devouring a stack of pork and empty bear bottles surrounding her on the table. Her sibling were all huddled together at the end of the table, watching Katie in horror.
Giggling among ourselves, we sat down at our table, across from Cecil who looked very confused about... something. At the end of our table was Julia and Alice who sat with perfect posture and serious faces.
"I... I... I don't remember anything," Cecil said in shock.
"What do you mean?" I said.
"I don't remember a thing from the past few days! Well, I sort of do, but it's all very fuzzy. All I know is that campers are being infected with... something, but I don't know why!" Cecil cried. Travis and I looked at each other and we just shrugged.
"Attention," Chiron said. He cleared his throat and yelled, "Attention, campers!" Everyone was quiet. Chiron nodded. "With the infection going around, we don't really know anything about it... therefore we don't know if it's contagious. So until we learn more about this infection, you are allowed to sit with whoever you want, not assigned by tables. Only rule is, you are not allowed to sit at the same table as an infected person. We don't want this spreading."
The pavilion was quiet for a couple moments, when suddenly, the entire pavilion erupted into cheering. "Just wait, before you go. I suppose the infected don't know they're infected, so let me just read off a list of who we believe are infected," Chiron said. He picked a piece of paper off of the head table, then began to read off of it. "Will Solace, Clarisse La Rue, Nico di Angelo, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Alice Miyazawa, Julia Feingold, Katie Gardner, Reyna and Rachel Elizabeth Dare."
Chiron looked to the side of him where Rachel was sitting depressingly and blandly. Chiron coughed, "Rachel, if you don't mind, it'd be nice if you moved to a different table..."inn
Rachel looked up at Chiron with no emotion and nodded slowly. "As long as it will keep me out of trouble with my father," Rachel sighed. Wow.
And just like that, everyone jumped out of their seats and began searching for their friends. I looked at Travis and said, "Let's find Drew. We need to talk about something... important."
Travis nodded and our eyes darted around the pavilion. Finally, our eyes landed on Drew who was sitting alone at the now empty Aphrodite table. Well, sort of empty. Drew was holding onto a younger daughter of Aphrodite, Lacy's, wrists. Lacy looked like she was struggling but I didn't know why she would be. Drew's amazing! Although Drew was holding on so tight, Lacy's hand was beginning to turn purple.
Travis and I snuck over to the table to listen to their conversation. "Hon, if you know what's good for you, you better sit by me," Drew growled. "Unless you want me to make you wear the shoes of shame."
Lacy let out a squeak, but she stuck her chin up. "Piper wouldn't let you. Piper's the head councilor, not you anymore, Drew," Lacy said. Uh oh. Want to know how to make Drew mad? Say that. Exactly that.
