Lou Ellen's POV

I stared down at the spell book. I was in the middle of trying to make a potion that would increase the border strength of Camp Half Blood, a small project Chiron requested I worked on. I put the last ingredient into the potion but knew immediately that it wouldn't work. Why? Because I was momentarily blinded by a giant poof of black powder. I was coughing by the time all the powder disappeared.

I looked into the potion bowl to see a sticky black powder with purple and silver specks. Oh no. This wasn't good. Not good at all. I looked at the time to see that it was ten minutes away from dinner. I wouldn't have time to destroy it and I needed to clean up. I had to hide it somewhere and make sure it didn't get in the wrong hands.

I looked around the Hecate cabin frantically. "Oh no," I said out loud. I grabbed the large potion bowl and stuffed it under my bed, deciding that I would destroy it later.

I quickly cleaned up, then left my cabin, muttering about the stupid potion and how I messed up so badly.

Travis's POV

Lou Ellen hadn't known that the entire time, Connor and I were watching from outside the Hecate cabin window. Before you say anything, my bro and I aren't total stalker creeps. We were scouting out the cabin in look out for a good potion or spell we could use for pranks. I knew we had found it when I saw Lou Ellen panic and stuff that weird black powder under her bed.

Once Lou Ellen was out of sight and we knew no one was watching, Connor and I crept into the cabin. I heard the dinner conch horn, but I knew we had to get the powder before anyone came back.

"Move quickly, dude," Connor said. The two of us dove under Lou Ellen's bed, looking for that big bowl of powder. It was hard to see under the bed, by the way. I think I swallowed a few dust bunnies too. I sneezed when I heard Connor say, "Got it!"

The two of us climbed out from under the bed and we studied the bowl. It was fairly large and I was surprised it was able to fit under the bed. It was probably as tall as my head to my waist. It was filled to the top with a black sticky powder with purple and silver specks. We would definitely need a better way to carry this around... hm.

"We're going to need a better way to carry these around," I announced.

"I hate agreeing with you, but you're right," Connor said.

"Hey!" I suddenly thought of an idea. "We could make them into those things the Aphrodite girls like to use - bath bombs! Except half the times smaller. And I'm going to bet the powder effects people. We could grab some slingshots from our cabin and fire them off at people!"

"Sweet, man," Connor said.

The two of us set up the powder on a table, then got to work, quickly molding them into little bite sized balls. The balls were fairly firm, like a rock. We tossed them all into a pouch, pretty certain they'd keep their shape. In the end, we had a large total of sixty powder balls.

"Wait," Connor said. "Shouldn't we test it on someone first?"

We looked at each other and grinned. "Nah," We grinned and fist bumped. We exited the cabin at just the right time. All of the campers were filing back to their cabins. And it was there that we saw our first victim.

Will Solace.

Connor and I shared a knowing look. "Think Nico'll kill us if anything bad happens to him?" I said.

"Who cares?" Connor smirked evilly. "Let's do this!" He and I sprinted over to our cabin, grabbing two slingshots. And just our luck, Will was standing right outside our cabin. He was talking to Nico with his back to us.

I slowly opened the window, careful not to be spotted by Nico. I grudgingly decided to let Connor do the honors of shooting him, since he already had a powder ball ready in his slingshot. He closed one eye, adjusting his aim... and fired.

Nico's POV

Will was talking to me excitedly about how a new shipment of healing herbs had just come in for the Apollo cabin. I was incredibly bored, but Will seemed so excited I decided to let him talk. "And guess what?" Will said. "There's even an herb that can-" Will was cut off suddenly.

His eyes rolled into his head and he would have face planted if it weren't for me. I stumbled under his weight. Will was a lot more heavy then I thought. "Will?" I said desperately. "Sunshine, you okay?"

I heard Will groan and I sighed with relief. What had just happened. Will suddenly jerked upright, shoving me away and scowling. "Get off of me, dweeb. I don't need your help, you gay freak!" Will sneered. He shoved past me, storming towards his cabin.

To say I was startled would be an understatement. What the schist had just happened?

Connor's POV

Huh. "Why's Will all of the sudden so... rude?" Travis said with an amused expression.

"Maybe," I mused, "These powder ball things make whoever it hits act like the opposite of what they'd usually act like."

Travis grinned wider then I thought he possibly could. "Dude," He said.

"Dude," I agreed, grinning evilly.

"Let's gets it on a few more people before we're sure though," Travis said. I nodded.

"And I think I know the next person we should test it on," I smirked. I whispered it in Travis's ear and a slow grin creeped up is lips.

"I love it!" He said. "Let's go!"
