Winter's POV

I sighed as I looked in my old journal during me and. Well, we all know who. I saw that I always wrote about how we were always so happy with each other, yet we both kept things away. Outside, the rest of the modern elemental eeveelutions were having a party for Drizzle. Turns out, he was okay after, and they were celebrating his birthday. I couldn't blame them. In this time of sadness for me and the world, I don't know how I could find an joy. Even Ribbon, my best friend now, struggles in getting me to smile.

I felt like I needed to go outside on the porch of my house. I did so with hopes of finding some answer to get me out of the hole that I had dug myself. The nice, cool breeze that spoke of the coming fall welcomed me a I stepped out. Leaves pattered on passed from when Static was knocking them over to make a bonfire. I still didn't see the point, seeing that we already have a flareon, who was also we-know-who's brother.

Suddenly, I heard a scream inside. I got into my Pure Forme, ready to kill whatever was in the house. I recognized the voice as Shinrin's, and I saw the last thing which I could ever be ready to fight. Because what was standing in front of Shinrin was an umbreon. A shiny umbreon, to specify. I felt my mouth drop. The one thing I knew that gave me the realization of who it was was the yellow eyes, which were crystallized.

It was none other than Darkness, a.k.a Dark, a.k.a Midn1ght. How do I know? Because about a few days before he died, his eyes were all wonky and looked the way they did now. As if Darkness wasn't handsome enough, his scar over his eye was healed over, fixing his now perfect face. The old chain necklace he had was around his neck, and he had wings. I'm talking like black angel wings. I couldn't help it. I burst into tears and was hugging him right there.

"I told you that I'd be with you always." Darkness replied, smiling.

"I know. I never forgot. Even after a year, I ever did." I cried.

"I promise I won't leave. Not anymore. Not for battle and not for you." Darkness promised, spreading his wings. "Because now, nothing will ever divide us."
