Chapter 6

Two chapters in a row, I'm very proud of myself XD While writing this I realized I'm just throwing random shit in this story to make it interesting lmao XD

Readers POV

I was standing outside waiting in anticipation for my mom to pick up.

"Hello, Y/n?" Her voice sounded staticy on the other line.

"You called a lot, what's wrong? Did something happen to you?" My mind was racing with questions. Was she hurt? Was she robbed? What had happened?!

"Y/n...your dad...he found us" Her words made my heart stop. Everything froze and the all the sounds faded.

Pepper's barking faded to nothing, the birds chirping as well. The angry drivers honks and shouts weren't there anymore.

Nothing but a ringing in my ears as I thought of that man.

"Y/n?"

"Y/n!?"

My mom's voice brought me back to the real world.

"How do you know? Did he see you? Are you alright? Are you safe?" My heart was racing and I started pacing around the backyard.

"It's okay Y/n, I'm fine. But I saw him at the market, he didn't see me though" She tries to explain calmly, but I couldn't calm down.

I felt like I was gonna have a panic attack. It was getting harder and harder to breath.

"Where are you? Are you safe?" I breath out, taking seat in the middle of the yard. It was cold out but my blood was pumping making me not feel it.

It's like Pepper could tell something was wrong as she comes and sits next to me.

"I'm fine, I'm at Lauren's house right now, her husband is here too. I didn't want to go home on the chance he saw me" It eased my nerves but still the thought of him being so close made me uneasy.

"Maybe you should stay there for a little while. I don't want you alone" I managed to calm myself down before I had a full fledged panic attack. Pepper was helping me.

"Okay, I will. And maybe you should have the O'Connells drop you off at school tomorrow. Don't walk, okay?" She asks but she didn't need to tell me twice.

"I will, and stay safe okay. Make sure to be around people at all times. I don't want you getting hurt" I couldn't keep the worry out of my voice.

"I know, I will. Same goes for you, okay honey? I love you, I don't know what I'd do without you" I smile and feel my eyes start to burn.

Bout to pull an Arianna Grande..."Ew, I'm crying"

"Well I technically wouldn't be here without you" I tried to make her laugh the only way I knew how. Trying to be a smartass with her.

"Smartass" I could practically hear her playful eyeroll. I chuckle soon hearing the laugh I've known and adored my whole life.

"I get it from you" I retort making her laugh harder. I smile to myself, happy I'm still able to make her laugh when needed.

"Okay, I'm sorry I worried you so much. Just stay calm and know everything will be fine" She tries to confront me through the phone but I was still on edge.

"Okay, be careful..I love you" She says 'I love you' back before we hang up.

I still had tears slowly pouring out of my eyes when Maggie came out.

"Y/n honey, are you okay?" Her voice reminded me so much of my mom's. I try to nod but more tears started to come out, leaving me paralyzed in the position I was in.
