CHAPTER 2

SUSPICION

Aoi couldn't resist the immense urge of asking Yashiro about what had happened the previous day, when mentioning it she was careful with her words since Aoi didn't want to sound rude when only worried for her friend.

Her position in the school had given her the ability of masking her emotions decently enough she could question her without sounding weird. Her mind was telling her she was overreacting but she couldn't know if she didn't ask her about it, maybe something crazy and mysterious was indeed happening!

"Nene-chan! Why did you act so weird yesterday during the break? It worried me a lot.." Her voice was sweet and high-pitched, the one mentioned snapped their head to the doll like female.

"Huh? What do you mean?"
"You called me Akane-san! It made me feel so old Nene-chan..!"
"I don't recall calling you like that ever since we have been friends, are you sure that actually happened?"

Aoi didn't seem convinced, but decided to let her off the hook. But she would still keep her guard when talking with Yashiro, after all- all she wanted was to help her.

"It's probably just my mind playing tricks on me, sorry about that!" She giggled cutely and continued talking with her radish friend.

Yashiro then ran off to the girl's bathroom for her toilet cleaning duty she had to do everyday, but she also had to tell Hanako about what happened with Aoi.

"Nisemono has already talked to Aoi-chan.. Is there a way to stop her? I don't want her to intervine with my friendships.."

"Yashiro, supernaturals can't go against their rumours, if they do they'll dissapear. In Nisemono's rumour it was mentioned that she would disguise as you and it probably also mean that she will interact with your loved ones"

"Oh..." She looked away "Is.. Is there a way to stop her?" Hanako sighed "For now, there isn't"

An awkward silence took over the room, Yashiro continued cleaning the bathroom while the ghost looked outside the big window. "How do you know that much about her anyways?" His previous attitude was changed to a more upbeat one "Oh well... I did a bunch of research! (Also known as pestering Tsuchigomori about the new deadly spirit)"

"I wonder if it has happened to other people too, or if she focuses on a victim at a time.." The bell rang "Ah! If i don't hurry I could be late, I'll finish this later- Bye Hanako-kun!"

He waved back at the girl and as soon as she was gone he frowned and sighed.

"Yashiro, I wonder, what did you do to deserve this?"

A few days had passed and it only got worse, the sights of Nisemono got more frequent and believeable. Aoi grew more worried for Nene since she could tell she wasn't acting like herself. "Nene-chan, are you sure you're okay?" Aoi asked in a serious tone, the other female just hummed and continued taking care of their plants.

According to the rumour she now only had three more days to live before the spirit came.

".. You know you can always tell me what's bothering you.. Even if it's just a silly crush on a boy!" She smiled warmly, her purple hair moving along with the wind. But even if Yashiro wanted to tell her she couldn't, she didn't want to see Aoi's reaction to her days being counted.

Meanwhile, Hanako did his best to research about Nisemono. In hopes to find a way to stop her. He didn't understand why she was so selfish and why she chose Nene when Aoi is one of the most popular people in the school.

"No answers.. Again" He sighed, putting his arms behind his head and closing his eyes. Yashiro's chance of surviving this were extremely slim. But part of him wishes she gets lucky and lives on. "I knew getting attached to her was a bad idea, yet I still did.."

"It's not like I could've avoided it anyways, she's my type."

"What a show! Sounds like you really fucked up, didn't you?"

He snapped his head to where the voice came from, a white haired girl with red eyes was standing there. She wore a fancy dark blue dress and didn't have ombre tips, so she wasn't Yashiro. "You're the girl from before, right?"

"Yup! I'm happy to see someone finally notices me, they normally just ignore my presence- But I'm so used to it by now!" That sounds super edgy.. I'm so sorry- The girl thought. "What does the mystery number eight want?"

She giggled while exagerrating "The one and only! Well, I saw you intensely trying to collect information about me, it was kinda VERY boring to watch- So I decided to intervine and tell you a little about me! You seemed so lost Amane-kun" The other apparition laughed while the other one's eyes widened "How do you know my real name?"

She hummed "So you do not remember me at all... That is interesting! I will get even more enjoyment when I make fun of you!"

Even though they only officially met not longer than ten minutes ago Hanako could tell that if he wanted specific answers he would have to basically force them out of her mouth. At first glance, he thought she would be quiet and well educated (Since rich people tend to be like that in the novels and movies) but when talking to her more the boy noticed she liked to leave her answers in a way you would have to figure out if she's lying or not.

"Ask away Amane-kun! I know you want answers!~" Nisemono said in a teasing tone.

This was going to be a long evening.
