NISEMONO
She grew up surrounded by privileges, mountains of cute clothes and dolls she could entertain herself with. Loads of money and power at the tip of her fingers (Even as a young little girl). Life was good, at least it seemed like it.
It was probably meant to be for her to be raised that way. The word 'Greedy' was in her name after all. Kokoro Donyoku, how much she hated it. She hated everyone who had the only thing no one ever gave to her.
Love.
A fleeting feeling as described by many. She wondered everyday how it felt like, was it the same as getting another goldfish knowing that it would die in a couple of days? The girl didn't know. The moments of real happiness were brief, the ones that weren't in front of big cameras and a centered stage.
Of course her maids showed respect and kindness towards the young girl, she appreciated it even though Kokoro knew they were acting like this to avoid being fired.
She thought her life would be as dull and sugar-coated as it was at that moment.
Until she went to Kamome Academy.
Kokoro expected for people to come running, trying to be friends with her just for her wealth. For her first day to go slow and painful, for her classmates to be boring and cliché.
That was the usual. But it only took two twins to turn her life around.
Tsukasa Yugi, a young hyper boy who seemed to jump around all the time and Amane Yugi, the eldest twin who was more reserved- bit still had a playful aura.
She had only hung out with Tsukasa, briefly having interactions with Amane despite the younger sticking to him like super-glue.
It was fun while it lasted. Five months of true happiness and it only took one sunset for everything to go to shit.
She walked to the classroom, the young girl had forgotten her school bag and had to get it before the maidens came and picked her up. She searched in the halls for classroom 1-A.
Reading the signs on the doors briefly she had found it. The young girl reached for the doorknob, ready to intrude the room until she stopped at hearing muffled talking.
The door creacked open, enough for her to have a little peek of what was happening inside the room.
"T-Tsukasa! What are you doing?" The older twin had been pinned on the wall by his other half. The younger had a knife to his throat.
"I have wanted to do this for a while Amane! Hitting was getting kind of boring.." He giggled sadistically, like a demon.
The girl's eyes widened as she inhailed a shaky breath. Tsukasa had heard it, getting distracted enough time for Amane to turn the tables and pin him on the floor.
His back hit the floor, earning a pained groan from him. Amane raised the weapon and penetrated his brother's chest. A pained scream echoed through the empty halls and classroom.
By this point the girl had enough.
She ran, tears in her eyes.
How could they do such a thing? Her head spinned with thoughts like these. Was it possible for her to had stopped it from happening? Maybe if she had payed attention to the signs.
Kokoro didn't know if she had to tell an adult about it or not. As absurd as it sounded.
She didn't want to get herself into another scandal, she didn't want to switch the TV to the news and see the obnoxious text in all caps; THE YOUNGER DONYOKU WITNESSES MURDER OF HER TWO FRIENDS.
She was only 13 years old, she didn't need more stress in her life being this young! She wanted privacy! A normal life sometimes, with no extraordinary amounts of cash.
So that's what she did. She kept quiet about the situation. The girl didn't know if it was the right choice- But what was done was done.
A few weeks later she saw them on TV while at her parent's friend's house. And that's when she got a risky idea;
Why not die now?
The thought was sudden, it caught her offguard for a moment. She had thought about committing suicide a few times obviously- But she had always ignored it.
It might've not been a bad idea.
So she grabbed her black shoes, put them on and sneaked outside. Hoping it was the last time she would walk out of a residence.
The little girl ran, stopping by the lonely swingset in a lonely park. It was approximately 2 in the morning. She yawned.
Kokoro looked over at the sidewalk, her eyes scanned it and saw zebra lines next to it. Bingo.
Now knowing a way she could die, the white haired girl waited a few minutes.
It didn't take long for her to hear the truck's honk in the distance. She estimated the perfect time to jump off onto death.
Which was a few seconds later.
Her legs ran all the way to the sidewalk, crossing it and hearing the wheels right next to her.
And it all ended, or at least it had supposed to. The impact with the vehicle hurt for a split second, then her body went numb.
After what felt like hours the former rich girl woke up in a school, a familiar one. When the blur went away she recognized the classroom, it was room 1-A, her class!
Only it looked more... modern, in a way.
Her thoughts spun around her, adorning her brain like a halo. She died. She got hit by a truck. Is she a ghost now? God no, Kokoro had lived once, she didn't need to again- She didn't WANT to.
A hand clutched her jaw, making her look up to the person. It was Tsukasa. He had that devilish smile he always wore, but it seemed softer.
"I know you were watching"
Her breath hitched. Tears welled up on her eyes and soon they were running freely on her porcelain cheeks, the one her photographers loved.
"You look so weak right now for someone who had a strong family when alive"- He let her chin go -"Kokoro, you are selfish,"- Only to grab her hair forcefully -"A crybaby"- He threw her, making her crash onto a nearby desk -"You look disgusting" He walked to her wiped her tears with his hand.
"You deserve everything that will happen to you in the future" The perfect image of herself that she had painted in her head had broken with Tsukasa's words.
He was right, she was selfish and weak. She had always been. Her shaky breaths and sobs didn't stop, even if her whole body hurt from being thrown.
"Get yourself fixed, meet Sakura and I at the boradcasting room as soon as you're done. You better be there"
... After doing what Tsukasa had said so she walked shakingly in the hallway. No one noticed her since she was a spirit, something that couldn't be easily seen.
When entering the room the younger tackled her to the ground lovingly. "You came! Right in time" the boy exclaimed hyperly. Even if they were friends in the past she still couldn't comprehend his habit of changing his mood like seasons.
"Sakuraaaa.." he looked at the green haired girl who held an old radio. The doll-like girl nodded, making the other female confused.
The next thing she felt was Tsukasa's hand penetrating her torso. A hole was left there and the boy held a piece of her soul. It hurt, but she was too in shock and pain to scream or attack them.
She fell to the ground, hearing the static of the radio over her thoughts.
"Have you heard this rumour?"
