Their eyes glowed with joy,
A point remembered,
A moment in time.
Little memories, tucked away,
Saved again and held at bay,
When their smile fades and hope is gone,
And it seems as though the road is long.
I hold their head and smile wide,
Even though they know I've lied.
We stick together through thick and thin,
Hoping for the smallest win.
And when those come we laugh and say,
May we revisit these memories on another day.
