Chapter 3

Abruptly, the carriage came to a complete halt. Sebastian swung open the door and assisted Elizabeth and Earl as they got out of the horse pulled box.
He did the same for me too, but he was more reluctant to touch me. I don't know why-seriously I have no clue!
As my high heeled boots touched the Earth's surface, I tightened the expensive, winter coat around my slim figure.
The light, chilled breeze fluttered the ends of my dress and loose strands of my tied back hair.
I didn't want to come in the first place but if I had to, I don't want him here-mostly because he gave me the creeps. But I guessed he didn't have a choice either because he's the Earl's footman, so he tagged along.
I could've lived through it that afternoon, but it irritated me because, he wouldn't leave my side!
I would move to my right, and he would do the same thing.
Speaking so only my ears may hear, he tilted his head in my direction. "Smile said not to let you go anywhere by yourself.... says Wordsworth..."
Smile?
If I think about it, I remember him telling Mey-Rin that "Smile", his boss, wanted to talk to her about a special errand last night.
Was "Smile" Sebastian or the Earl? Either would fit that role, because they're both his higher up.
I mean, would you really take orders from a same rank worker?
"Alice, don't you just love coming to the market?" Elizabeth twirl on her toes, letting her hands fly through the air.
She's always excited whenever we go shopping; it makes her more loveable, at least in my opinion.
Everyone wanted to go to the shopping district, but I went to the library instead, and unsurprisingly, Mr. Snake did, too. Annoying.
Warm air breezed past my face when I opened the entrance to the shop. It was very quiet and peaceful; that's what I adore about this place.
Hardly anyone comes here, because they think it's uninteresting and if they stayed long enough, they'd die of boredom. Inside, I kind of wished they did, but by my own hands.
"You must think this is awful to come here." I addressed the circus freak, but he didn't reply. I asked him again, and no answer.
"Hey?" I almost yelled, but this was a library, so I whispered loudly.
I turned my body towards him, although what greeted me was air. He had disappeared.
My first thoughts weren't worry one bit. I was crossed. He didn't't have the decency to even tell me where he was going! However, I wasn't surprised.
Most people would have left, too. I wasn't bothered, hurt yes, but not bothered, so I kept on with my regular business.
