You and Steven had been dating for months, but you rarely got to see him. He was always busy with gem stuff, and supervising the school.

Today would be different though, you were sure of it. It had to be, you couldn't spend valentines alone. Not when you quite literally had, a boyfriend.

You loved Steven, and you would do anything for him, but you were starting to lose hope. You were beginning to feel like an afterthought, and like the school for gems was more important then you.

You admired Stevens work, and were happy to see him do such good, but you just wished for a little more of his time.

Today was Valentine's Day though, and if he failed to show up, you decided it would be the last straw.

You get up out of your bed, tying your (h/c) hair up into a ponytail. You stare in the mirror, giving yourself a confident smile. You can do this!

You pull open your closet doors, observing your options. You eventually decide on a baby pink sweater and a pair of jeans. You pull on your shoes, and grab your bag, heading out the door.

You step out on the grass, closing your eyes and letting the gentle breeze flow around you. Your brief moment is quickly interrupted by the sound of flapping wings, a large dove lands on your shoulder, cooing as it nuzzles into your neck.

"Well good morning to you too, Lucille." You let her stay on your shoulder. You befriended the dove the day you moved to beach city.

Eventually you make it to Stevens home. Garnet sits out in the sand by the house, appearing to be meditating.

You make your way up to the door, knocking lightly. A few moments pass by but no ones answers. You knock again, this time loudly.

The door swings open to reveal Pearl.

"(Y/N)! It's so nice to see you!" She gleefully sings.

"Hey Pearl! I'm looking for Steven! Have you seen him?" You shuffle awkwardly.

Pearl suddenly freezes, slamming the door.

"Well that was strange..." you say to yourself, puzzled. Lucille flys away, startled from the door. You stare up at the sky, watching her leave. You head back down to the sand, walking up to Garnet.

"Hey Garnet!" You wave, smiling awkwardly at her. She always made you a little nervous.

"Hello." She says with a straight face.

"Have you seen Steven?" You ask, pulling your sleeves over your hands.

Garnet gives no response.

"I'll leave you alone then!" You quickly turn around, walking away briskly.

Garnet smiles as you walk away. The dove landing on her shoulder.

You approach big donut, maybe he'll be here. You enter the shop. No sign of Steven. Instead you find Amethyst laying on the floor under a pile of donuts.

You turn and quickly leave, not wanting to know.

You check the time, it's now approaching noon.
Well I suppose it's not the afternoon yet. He knows about the reservations, I'll see him then. You eventually give up and head back home to get ready.

You let your hair down, combing through it with your fingers and fluffing it with your hands. Checking your closet again, you look through your dress options. You spot a red sequined dress. Is it to much? You pull it out, holding it up against you. I hope he likes it.

You get changed, pulling on a pair of heels and applying some red lipstick to match.

After you finish getting ready, you head out the door, clutch and keys in hand. It's the afternoon now, and the sun has dimmed down. You climb into your car, starting up the engine and pulling out of the driveway.

You pull up to Fish Stew Pizza. Not the most romantic setting, but there weren't very many restaurant options.

You step inside. Taking a seat at the nearest table. Jenny approaches you, pen and pad in hand. "Just one tonight?" She forces a smile.

"No, I'm waiting for someone." You nervously say. Jenny nods and heads back to the counter.

You glance down at your watch. He'll be here, it's only been five minutes.

10 minutes.

20 minutes.

45 minutes.

Jenny approaches the table again. "I'm sorry but we're gonna need you to place an order soon." Tears roll down your cheeks. Did he ever really care?

Jenny looks at you sympathetically, she opens her mouth to speak but you push past her, running out the door. You continue running. You don't know where your going, but you knew you just wanted to get away.

Eventually you stop, catching your breathe. Pull yourself together! You stand up straight, wiping your eyes. You turn around, about to head back to your car, when you notice a strange sound.

You stare up into the night sky, squinting at a flock of doves coming straight towards you. Your eyes widen as they swoop down, they begin dropping petals on you. What the?! A few of them begin picking you up, and you rise off the ground. You are in to much shock to move.

Eventually they drop you back in front of your own home, and you stand bewildered, hair frazzled. You notice a single rose laying in front of the door. You pick it up gently.

You slowly open the door, and drop the rose in shock.

Lights were strung across the room, a table with candles lay in the center with a red velvet cloth. A trail of pedals led to a chair, that Steven stood behind.

You can't contain yourself, you begin to sob.
Steven rushes over, pulling you to his chest and rocking you back and forth.

"(Y/N) what's wrong? Do you not like it? I thought it'd be better then fish stew pi-" you place his face in your hands, staring up at him. "No, I absolutely love it." You kiss him, long a passionately.

Stevens face turns red as you end your embrace. He takes your hands in his. "I'm sorry that I've been so busy lately. I wanted to spend more time with you but it was hard with everything that's been going on. But that's going to change." He stares into your (E/C) eyes, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. "I love you, (Y/N)."

Your eyes widen and you blush. "I...I love you too.." you are overwhelmed with emotion.

He laughs. "Your so cute when your nervous."
He pulls you by the hand over to the table, pulling a chair out for you. You sit down, starving at this point. He takes a seat across from you.

"Steven?" You say quietly, placing your hands on the table.

"Yes?" He asks worriedly.

"This is the best Valentine's Day I could've ever asked for."
