chapter 1, what if...

(Jenny pov)
I was sat in my bedroom listening to music when suddenly there was a knock on the door.
" Idiot! Can I come in!!" Someone shouted.
"Depends" I said. " Why?"
"I have some news!" They said.
Tom opened the door in a hurry and sat down on my bed.
" Sure , come in and have a seat!" I said sarcastically
" Ha ha, very funny!" He replied " so, guess what?" He asked.
"What?" I said growing impatient.
"All of the top floor are going to have the chance to get adopted again tomorrow!" He said
"Oh, thanks." I said sadly
"Ok, I'll ... Leave you too it" he said
      Tom knows that I've been in this home since I was six. I'm 12 nearly 13 now. If no one picked me six years ago... Why would they pick me now ...
My names Jenny, my parents died a long time ago, so I guess it's better that I don't remember them. I love music and it makes me feel happy and relaxed, I escape from all my problems. Tom is my best friend and if I did get adopted, I'd hate to leave him here alone.
The orphanage was ok, I guess. It was three stories high and we all got our own room and a small TV. I had a really old phone that my uncle gave me before I went in the home but some kid on the first floor stole it. You have to be careful to lock your door here otherwise your things will get nicked. I still have my laptop though, and my favourite thing to do on it is watch fortnite videos. I don't know any YouTubers really apart from this guy called Lachlan. He's funny.
(Tom's pov)
I hope Jenny gets adopted tomorrow. I feel sorry for her. She wants a family so bad whereas I don't mind that much. I'll miss he like crazy if she leaves though, but we'll still keep in touch.... I hope.

I shut my laptop after watching Lachlan newest video. It was so funny! I felt really tired even though it was only 8 pm so I decided to get into bed. I fell asleep hoping that tomorrow would be my day...
