The food is absoloutley amazing.

It's one of those resturants where you go and get the food yourself, or so Hunter tells me.

I'm practically filled to the brim, there's so much good food I hadn't ever tasted beore.

"Wow," Hunter says. "You sure can eat a lot."

His joking makes me think of Kian, and my heart throbbes. I haddn't realized how much I miss him.

"Wait until you try the ice cream."

"Ice cream?"

Turns out ice cream is this super delicious cold creamy stuff, and I'm in love with it.

"This is so good!" I say, the flavor of cream I chose dripping down my chin. "Who came up with this stuff, anyway?"

Hunter chuckled, but he didn't sound happy. "I don't know. you should google it!"

"Google it?"

He shows me this thing on this other thing that's like a smooth rectangle. you touch it and it does things.

As he's showing me, I think about how Hunter has been acting. I realize he hasn't really acted happy the whole time I'm here. He pretends to be happy, but I could almost swear I saw something else in his eyes.

There was also the fact that I didn't think humans were supposed to know our language. Was it really just a coincidence that he could comunicate with me?

but I tell myself not to be suspicious. He's not being agressive or anything.

After we eat, Hunter asks me if he can drive me home.

I've never been in a car before, and it's really weird. But I don't have a house, not on Earth. What was I going to do?

As we're driving, a storm starts.

Before I can even realize what's happening, the steering-wheel-thing gets wrenched out of Hunter's hands by the force of us hitting something.

Then we're falling.

"Hold on!" Hunter calls.

I brace myself.

But the impact comes sooner than I expect, and my head slams into an especially hard part of the car wall, and everything goes black.
